High Density Poly-Ethylene (recycling number one i believe) is a different polymer than Poly-Vinyl Chloride (PVC, recycling number 5), two semesters of organic chem, holla!

Just use PVC if you got a good deal on it, you really won't be able to tell the difference IMO.

Is there any top layer (surface) that could reduce the chances of your board breaking? Or not since it would still be the same amount of pressure forcing your board down?

It doesn't really matter, as long as it slides it's pretty much the same force. I'm sure they make some material like that, but I'm also guessing that it's $$$. There's no way to keep your board new when hitting any slider, so the best thing to do is not worry about it (or not hit a slider at all).

Yeah I guess they probably will eventually come up with some that won't hurt boards as much. Then again the people with money for that shizzle are the pros and if they bust their boards they prob just get a new one anyway so it's probably not a big deal for the companies to make something to keep the durability of boards.

hahaha

get a new one

oh that is priceless. Yeah, just go back to shore and pull another one out of the boxes they have in the house! Very Happy Very Happy

to be sponsored by a board company, man that would be awesome.
