what (if any) is the advantage of a ROUND (http://www.bartswatersports.com/catalog.asp?C=109&P=8040), FLAT (http://www.bartswatersports.com/catalog.asp?C=109&P=8082), or CURVY (http://www.bartswatersports.com/catalog.asp?C=109&P=8080) tiped board?

Sits lower in the water, sometimes helps edging or makes easier to ride finless. Also the rocker is very important. 3 stage give a bigger pop. You looking to buy a board?

gayrat, each tail profile has its own characteristics and there are so many different tail shapes that its hard to give specific characteristics to each one. If you watch detention murray says that round tails give more pop square tails carry more speed into the wake and "curvy" tails track better. however when combined with different rocker lines, channels and molded fins. it is hard t say how the tail shape really affects the boards ride compared to another board.
