Stereo Popping/clicking

I have 2 close friends that each have 03 wakesetter VLX's
Both of them have 4 tower speakers, 4 in boat speakers, and a sub that are run off of 4 channel amps
Both of them have Popping/Clicking in their stereo's ONLY when the Boat is Running.

Looking for help please!?!?!

In car stereos, popping noises are generally caused from spark plug wires. That would be my first guess since it only occurs when the engine runs. A sub that is being run beyond it's maximum level will also make loud pops and cracks that come at irregular intervals. I'm not really much of a stereo expert, I just know enough to be dangerous.

Could also be a bad ground, I would check that as well, see how the ground is attached to the battery/enging block.
