|

Hey fellow newbies (to this board anyway). Does anyone have suggestions for boards besides hyperlite? It seems like such a cop out to go buy a hyperlite when it's over 400 bucks for their good boards. Hyperlite to me sounds like the Burton of wakeboarding. I've been looking at the ricky g or some of the platinum series CWBs. What do you guys think?
Also could my attempts at W2W be more difficult because I have a noob board (hyperlite movement 140)? I can get across the wake but man, it seems like a lot of work, plus the fins are so friggin big it's hard to get out of the water! I hate this board, it's slow and has no pop! |

i dont think the fins have anything do with it, i have a parks 133 with big fins and i land in the flats, but choose which board is good for you, whichever you plan on, ask to test it _________________ Take off you hoser |

| I think the parks fins are much smaller....mine are like 2.1 friggin inches. That thing feels like it doesn't want to release. Maybe the lack of rocker translates into no pop. |

Yeah my board has a continuous rocker with 2-2" fins on either end with some continous rails. I feel glued to the water al the time. I would say get a board that feels comfortable to you. Go out and demo. In reality a pro could do almost all the tricks they can do now on just about any board. It's all about comfort when learning. Also try changing the stance or andlge of the bindings too before you drop money on a board. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

| I had a hyperlite juvi with really deep fins and just recently picked up an 04 premier. i like it so much more. the fins track well when i want them to and release when i want. its much more comfortable. of course i tried out my friends 02 premier before i went out and bought mine. i suggest going and demoing some of your friends boards. |

| ridehatzic, parks should have small fins man, like 1.1's or something around that. Unless you made them bigger which is pretty weird |

Pretty much anything that buywake.com or perfski carry is a quality board. just don't buy a hydroslide. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

my hyperlite board had 2" plastic fins. A kid at the local board shop took a grinder to them and shaved off about 3/4 of an inch. So i tipped him $5 and it has made a huge difference. Now i can spin much easier, and when i land jumps the board doesn't grip the water as suddenly so i'm able to ride away more often. _________________ "Do not be alarmed, Continue swimming Naked!" - Chief Wiggum |

yeh what year show boy? mine is an 02 its awesome
but the parks has 2 fins on each end so it would be harder to come out of the water (on a power slide) then anything else. also if you but a brand new board make sure it is the right length for you if it is too short you will fall out the back all the time i had a phatty and i slipped out tons then i went to a 140 motive and that has never happened. so buy a board right for you especially if you have stopped growing don't buy something that anyone on your boat can ride buy it for you becasue you are gonna use it the most. |

I just bought the 2003 Liquid Force Balance a evogear.com for $279 and it retailed for like $580 or $600. It has a stage 3 rocker the center fin is 1.2 and side fins are .9. It is ultra core which is super light, it is made out of balsa wood. _________________ why buy fat sacs when you can bring fats chicks |
