OK, I am a total Newb started boarding at the end of last season and was hooked. I can now do all kinds of surface stuff like FS & BS surface 180 Butterslide 180 I am getting quite comfortable riding switch (which I guess happens since all i can do are 180's ) I am getting closer to going W2W TS and can jump about halfway TS switch. HS regular still intimidates me as I have gone face surfing too many times when my back foot slides out and I end up sideways and catch the edge. I figure in order to help my W2W attempts I should be able to ollie as well. I have tried to Ollie the same way I would on a skateboard weight front then back quick & jump but my board seems like is suctioned to the water. I managed what feltlike an ollie once this weekend by driving all of my weight into the back foot and sinking the back of the board and the letting off and riding up out of the hole I created like a small ramp. (Sorry if explanation is confusing, it is hard to describe what you can only feel). I am a fairly large person 5'11" 220lbs. so I am thinking maybe I am not going fast enough and my baord is still kind of low, but that doesn't make sense because I can spin all over the place on the surface. I have watched and read everything I could find then tried it in the water and nothing. I have even been able to Ollie my Indo Board while holding a rope behind my boat in the driveway.
Thanks for any help. |
