I recently started wakeboarding. I have only been out three times the first time I just got up and that was it. The second time I crossed the wake. And the third the guy I was with tried to teach me how to 180. Which is better to learn next? The 180 or the ollie 180. It was hard for me to do the 180 because I over rotated all the time and my cheek was killing me the next day from hitting the water. Any suggestions?

Keep on working on riding switch. Once you get what michaelkontor suggested you may want to work on your TS and HS W2Ws. You many also want to try some buttersildes.

Check out our Trick Tips section at http://www.wakeboarder.com/tricks/tricks.phtml . It goes over how to learn 180s, and how to do correct heelside and toeside progressive edges. All key foundations to becoming a better wakeboarder.

I also find that half-cabs are easier than regular to switch 180s

Definitely learn switch first.

Well, ride swithc first but I find 1 wake 180s easier to land. I like to take off heelside switch and land toeside regular.

I figured. They started out taking off heelside and landing noseside but something about that just didn't seem right.
