| Hello all. I recently discovered the greatness that wake boarding has come to offer me. Being a new participant in this great sport, I know very little about everything. I have a few question about purchasing a wake board. As far as my spending limit goes, I am willing to do whatever it takes. I am 6 2' and weigh about 165. As far as experience in wake boarding, I would say I am not the greatest by any means. However, I have great experience with skiing and knee boarding. Although, I do not know if these contribute to this sport. I would just really like some info on what board I should buy and if there is anything else I should go ahead and purchase while I am in this. Thanks. |

| skiing and kneeboarding arent even close to wakeboarding. Wakeboarding is the easiest water sport to learn how to do. you will need a wakeboard that is a size 134or 136 i like hyperlites but i would say that a liquid force is better for beginners. dont buy hyperlite bindings or liquid force there to expensive. just buy whatever can strap you in realllllllllllly tight |

Hmm well bevelboard19 is somewhat correct. You can ride anything from a 136-142 I would think thats about right. Hyperlite and Liquid Force are only 2 of the many brands. There is nothing wrong with them and don't feel like you need to stay away from hyperlite or LF bindings because one person said so. If you can go to a local shop and demo a few boards. When asking for a new board suggestion mostly you will get told just to demo. _________________ www.Tigeowners.com

bevelboard19 is not the best binding expert out there. Before you are told which bindings you should buy because eveyone else rides them, try on as many as you can. A while back I went to one shop and they sold me on the Liquid Force Ultras. I thought it was a good choice at the time but they were bad for my foot which is very wide and high arch. They were also a pain to get on. Now I have the Nice PRS1s which are 100x better for MY FOOT, not for everyones. So before you just go hog wild on one pair, try as many as you can on, and while you try them on keep them on for an extended period of time, so you can find if the bindings have pressure points.
I also would agree with the board sizes metioned above. |

Everyone has the right board sizes... but demo demo demo... go to your local shop and demo a board. This means trying a board out
bevelboard19 has no idea what he is talking about binding wise.
You want a snug fit, and liquid force and hyperlite produce nice bindings. Don't get bindings that can just strap you in realllllllllllly tight, they need to be comfy, and don't get "tight" bindings, make them snug. Each binding will have a size chart thing for what shoe size and all. Hope this helps, peace. |

This past weekend I went wakeboarding for the first time and loved it!
However, I did have two double eject face plants. My feet were comfortable and I had the bindings about as tight as I could get them. But if my feet were coming out when I fell, were the bindings too loose?
I do not know what kind of board or bindings I was using but I am sure that it was bottom of the line. _________________ Check out my wakeboarding links page. |

I definetly don't like having my bindings too tight cuz I did last weekend when I went out and when I got chased by a water moccasin and was trying to get my bindings off when I was trying to get in the boat. It didn't work. I ended up getting pulled in the boat with my board on just to get away from the snake. Now my shoulders are sore and I have bruises on my legs because I couldn't get them off. Next time I am going to wear them loose . But hopefully I don't come across another water moccasin. That's my lesson about wearing bindings too tight so I don't have to put them back on when they come off. No more being lazy for me. _________________ Support your local boardshop...
