I wanna know if im approacking a W2W jump the correct way b/c i havnt cleared the wake yet. I have gottn close but i still would like some tips.

When i go in for a Wake 2 Wake jump i normally cut hard to the outside on my toeside and then when the boat starts to pull me in i make a big cut into the wake on my heelside. I then bend my knees and pull on the rope a little more to get some more speed. When im about to hit the wake i stop cutting and flatten the board out so it hits the wake square. I then try and stand up tall or sometimes jump.

Do you think im just not getting enough speed or should i keep cutting through the wake and not flatten the board out. I really dont understand why i havnt gottn yet. Im not a wuss i try and go balls out everytime i go out on the water

If anyones got some tips please share
thanks

As you approach the wake you need to increase your edge so a the wake you are edging your hardest and stand tall at the top of the wake. You don't need alot of speed to jump W2W. Good Luck

You have to edge through the wake.

Don't bend your knees while coming into the approach, have them pre bent. Also dont "jump" once you get to the wake, you sort of have to you use the wake as your ramp. By standing strong and tall all the way through the wake you won't absorb the pop of the wake and this will send you in the air.

The secret to being on edge (IMHO) is to pull the handle down to your hip (and don't let the rope get slack) in order to keep the rope from getting slack, you have to lean back, and if the handle is at your hip, and you're leaning back, you're on edge

The other secret (again IMHO) is good bindings

I have a so so board, but I now have Parks bindings

I am way past the end of the wake, I can only attribute that to the bindings. The more secure you feel on your board, the more secure you will feel going from one damn wake to the other Cool
