| Hey I'm new to this forum, and it's really cool. Anyways, on to the point. I'm 5'6" and about 130lbs. Is a board that's 131 too short or not? Thanks a lot. |

Hi Matt,
Welcome to Wakeboarder.com! Glad to have you with us here. A 131 board is probably a tad short for you. You'd probably be better off on a board that's 133-137 cm in length.
Do currently own a board? _________________ Pat McCarthy |

| ya thats it. board size is mostly personal prefernce. if you like it go for it its not like you wont be able to ride well on it. right now i weigh 150 and ride a 128. its not bad but im definitely planning on getting a new board this summer. |

| Try to demo a few sizes if u can, but im 5' 9'' and i weigh 130, i ride a 134. That seems like a good length for me, and it rides well. |

| thanks a lot guys, ill try out some of my friends boards to see how they feel. my friend was telling me that i should get a 136 hyperlite premeir board. how do you think that would work out for me? im fairly new to boarding, i dont really know much about boards. i ride behind a 24' sea ray with a pylon normally, sometimes ill go out with friends who have boats made for boarding. |

| MattM, the premier is quite a bit different from the juvi you probably want to demo the board before you by it. personally i nreally liked the new premier but it may not be the right board for you. |

| I think i found out what the problem is. i ride behind a big heavy sea ray and its got a really nice, tall, peaky wake, but my board has 2.2" of rocker. i think that's probably too little because when i go out on my girlfriends malibu i can clear the wake easily. her wake is much smaller and more mellow. do you think that 2.2"of rocker is too little for my big wake? if so, what do you think would be a good ammount of rocker? Thanks a lot! |

I doubt the amount of rocker is really the problem. More rocker would probably help, but it's probably not the reason you're having a hard time on the bigger wake. That's probably more related to technique than rocker size. _________________ Pat McCarthy |

| i find its harder to jump the wake with a big wake, it really easy with a small wake. you think that my technique is wrong? |

Yes, big wakes can be hard if you have improper technique and you're not used to it. A bigger wake is often wider, meaning you have to jump farther, and obviously the pop is usually bigger so it takes more control. Basically, you need to perfect your techniques on a smaller wake and move to the bigger wakes slower. _________________ Pat McCarthy |

| i dont know what im doing wrong then. its probably really obvious though. i should prolly bring a video camera out next time i go out so i can get some pointers. i can really tell that my wake is wider than most of the other boats ive been behind. any idea as to what i MIGHT be doing wrong? thanks a lot |
