Personally, I wasn't going to buy this video anyway since I'm kind of broke and all my money goes towards paying for gas. I do buy around three videos a year also, so it's not like I only rip stuff off and don't buy anything.

Guys, I really hope that when you download these videos, you like them and buy the DVD. Like Ralph said, the Wake industry is really small and we should be doing everything we can to keep the film-makers alive.
The cost of making a Wakeboard film isn't cheap. Think about the costs of equiptment, editing time in a suite, travel costs, film transfer, etc. It all adds up. I don't really mind downloading a motion picture from a big corporation, but we have to get behind the people like Justin Stevens and Mark Bame who make our wakeboard films.
Anyway. the DVD's are much better than anything you could download from the web.

I'm putting the soapbox away now... Smile

J Robinson- You can't contradict yourself like that. If you claim that file sharing is wrong then you have to apply it to all aspects including big business. It's like a parent telling their kid that its ok if mom or dad does but you should never do it. Big corporations put even more money into the films and are supporting more people so Dling thier stuff is no different than DLing a small companies film.

I don't see how downloading a movie is much different from borrowing one from a friend or watching it at a friends house. I'm sure people do that all the time and no one gets on their case about it.

Fu Wei - I've heard of people with Boombox, but I have never seen it.

SSW - Don't talk about getting down on people for downloading, when you are just going to be sharing it and helping others download it. Do you think that is really helping the wake industry? Of course not.

you guys do realize you are openly talking about committing a felony on a forum where your info is available to anyone who wants it. it really wouldn't be hard for the production companies to check up on stuff like that. its only a matter of time before they try to put a stop to it. hope they don't make an example out of you. to each their own. you guys would probably do donuts around a cop in a stolen car too.

because the law would leave sites like kazza open and go after everyone who is sharing files on them. im not sure i buy that otis. im sure legislation will soon pass to ban it but then again there will be loopholes and ways to get around it.

as far as wakeboarding movies go i agree with josh. though it's not illegal i would rather spend my money on wakeboard movies and download the movies that already make plenty of money. i know you could consider that hypocritical but personally i dont feel bad taking money from big movie companies but i do respect the people who make wakeboard films and support them bacause i want to see more wakeboard movies in the future.

kazaa is being taken to court. they are trying to force kazaa to release user identities and logs of transfers so that they can go directly after you for piracy. i think they are lame for even trying it but it is the law. you guys might have access to videos of poor quality but now you have advertised where. stupid stupid stupid. wes are you serious "its not illegal"? if i made a film, and it got on kazaa you can bet i would name a virus file the same as my movie. i bet they will too. kazaa is bs. get a clue guys.

So, I'm assuming you don't download songs or movies, otis? Have fun paying!

I just checked the Kazaa website, and over 195 MILLION Kazaa Media Desktops have been downloaded. Do you really think that the government is going to lock up all these people? Our prisons would get too full as so many people have already downloaded stuff. People talk all the time about doing drugs on the internet and they don't get busted. And they wouldn't want to send viruses since that is also illegal and very bad for business. If they can legally put viruses on the internet, then we should legally be able to email viruses to them. I do buy stuff by the way, but as I said before, I only make $8 an hour and a lot of that goes towards saving for college and towards paying for gas.

Why would I steal a car if I already have one? Anyway, you're the 'Criminal'.

not jail time $5000 fines. i used to d\l a lot from kazaa. just not anymore. crap files, long downloads, tons of new viruses and they are going to court. i don't see anything happening in the near future but they are slowly trying to stop piracy. like i said"to each their own" anyone who knows anything doesn't use kazaa anymore. id tell you where the good files are but id rather keep it a secret. by the way, how is that crappy copy of faction or free 4 all treating you?oh your still trying to d\l it?news flash-false files made by record companies and software companies do exhist. try to d\l norton anything or windows xp crack, or lots of new videos and see what happens. all im saying is be careful and quiet about d\l

I downloaded plenty of those false files before, but I also have downloaded plenty of working ones which makes it worth it. You won't see those kind of fines either, you'd have to have a warning sent out first.

700 MB videos usually turn out to be very good quality, by the way.

napster has already been to court and look what we have now. morpheus, winamp, limewire, kazaa, audiogalaxy, resnet, and there's probably a lot more so until legislation passes banning all file-sharing e-companies taking them to court one at a time is not going to cut it.
also i doubt the surpreme court would pass a retro-active law to fine all users $5,000. if so why wasn't it done with napster?

i don't think napster was p2p. they kept files or directories on a server, which made them responsible. kazaa connects you to someone elses computer which makes you responsible. i am not anti d\l im just anti getting busted
