| I just started wakeboarding recently, and the guy I have been going with is a big Hyperlite guy. I am sick of using his board and am in the market for my own. I have done a lot of research on the different types of boards and different features. Is there anything I should know about different board makers before I go out and get hooked up? |

Most of the brands are pretty solid these days. They all tend to warranty boards fairly well, and make stuff that generally doesn't break. Are there specific brands you're looking at? _________________ Pat McCarthy |

| I was looking at CWB and hyperlite. The board I was riding was a Hyperlite Byerly 142. I think that board was a little to agressive and big. I am looking in the 135-138 range due to my weight. The agressiveness of a board doesn't scare me too much as I think I will progress pretty easy. The guy I ride with used to be a team rider for a couple of different teams, so hes a great teacher. I just don't want to break the bank. |

| the best thing would be to demo the boards you are interested in. i'm not very familiar with CWB, but for hyperlite, the ERA or Motive is a good board for the money. not hugely expensive, but a solid board. |

twig, if you have other friends that board; use their board. The biggest advice on finding a board is demo find other boards from friends, "rent" boards from local boardshops, etc. That's the best way to find the right board for you.
Also, never limit yourself to a board company. You're friend may be sprung on Hyperlite but there are other board companies out there.
Other Brands of Boards:
Gator Boards
Blindside
DoubleUp
Liquid Force
Jobe
O'brien...and so on
Anyways, happy hunting, and welcome to the sport! Remember it's all about having fun |

| Personally I've demo'ed alot and I found out that everyone is different. I finally settled on an O'Brien Rail 137 which is working out fine FOR ME. Every board rides a little different |
