Hello all. Newbie here. Great site. My question is I can't seem to get any air. I have a Hyperlite 140 and I wakeboard without a tower. I am 6' tall and weigh 175 lbs. The board name is a Vashon. I feel confortable on the board but cannot get lift or pop. Maybe I should try a smaller lighter board? or is it my technique? I carve towards the wake and try to stand tall as I approach and keep the handle at waist heighth. I don't spring or straighten my knees as I was told not to. Any suggestions. By the way my wakeboard is at least 3 years old and I ski behind a 17 foot Reinell.

Do a search on w2w jumps, I'm not trying to be an ass there a some very good threads on this subject. I was in about the same boat as you last year then started reading threads about w2w and the first time I went out this year I went to w2w first set and I improve on my height every time out. If your not using a no strech rope I would recemend getting one for sure it helped me a ton. Good luck

learn a progrssive edge. It's in the trick tips section of this site-but also get "higher education". It'll teach you all about it. How often do you go?

I agree with roundbaywakeboard, a good educational video really helped me see how I was supposed to edge all the way up the wake. I've also noticed that boat speed can make a big difference ie.. I have a much easier time getting air at 22 then 19.
