Yet another board question.

Now that I've started wakeboarding my friends are wanting to start, One told me to come here and ask what your opinion is the better bang for the buck, the 04 Trip or the 03 Substance, He is wanting something that he can keep as he gets more advanced with riding...Please help us Smile

Best advice everyone will give you, is to try and demo both. Individual riders like different boards. It is all personal preference. That being said, I actually own both boards. The trip is an old standby that almost nobody will have anything bad to say about. It was state of the art when it came out. It is a continuous rocker board. The substance is a 3 stage board that most people would say is for a more advanced rider. Both boards are pretty "fast" as they say. Your friend will never out perform either board. He may find that he likes something better through demo-ing, but both boards have been ridden quite successfully at the highest possible levels. The trip is probably better for a beginner, IMO.

There is no shop to demo around here, and he doesn't want to do the Trinity Boardsports demo thing..Maybe someone from Memphis will come down and have one of these that he can demo?

I can get the 04 Trip w/ alpha suctions for 399.99, and the 03 subtance with alpha suctions for 499.99, but i want a good, light weight vest so i need to save my money
