Dna is a wood type of core and biolite is a foam type of core....biolite is stronger and heavier and dna is weaker and lighter

the 2004 DNA boards are no weaker than the Biolite... the have a new pattern or somethin... they might be SLIGHTY weaker on sliders... but only if your goin HUGE.. i have a DNA and its so awesome.. you have a lot better feel of the water and it gives you a little better pop... i dont think its worth the extra money tho... i got mine cause i found it for 75$ more and the graphics were way better... so i decided to go with the DNA... its a bit lighter.. but you wouldnt notice the weight... weight is just a sales pitch... if you can actually feel the difference in 1 pound you must be 1 little sissy cause it would be like adding 1 pound to an exercise machine... such a small diff

I rode a 2002 byerly biolite and a 2003 byerly dna and could hardly tell a difference. unless you have money burning a hole in you pocket get the biolite. and even if the money is burning a hole in you pocket use it to get a new handle or wetsuit or something. The dna does provide a little better pop but it's not worth the extra $ IMO

the DNA is a wood core, with carbon fibre stringers. gives better pop off the wake, and better feel in the water. i find it hard to believe the a foam core would be stronger than a wood core. with the experience i've had in the skiing industry, wooden cores are always stronger than the foam kind.

There is definitely a difference. DNA feels a little smoother on the water, lighter, and not as stiff. At the same time, it isn't going to be the deciding factor in whether you land that new trick or not...

Take each type of deck, turn them upside down on the floor, and step on each of them... You will see that there is a huge difference between them. The DNA will almost spring you right back off while the biolite will stay relatively compressed.

that extra spring might be difference in the pop off the wake you need for landing that new trick.

and looking through the bottom of your board, and seeing wood grain, and carbon fibre stringers, just looks sexy. haha

I hate to go this route but look at what the pros are riding. try to find one hyperlite pro rider that rides the dna. mainly because of sliders. even hyperlite will say that the dna core doesn't hold up well on sliders.
