|
|
| I have a tige 2200i (1999). My family does both waterskiing and wakeboarding. We are intermediates for skiing and beginners for wakeboarding. The Tige 2200i seems to have a sharper crest due to its "ski hull" design. We don't get the ramping compared to other newer boats. I was looking at the Tige 21i (2003). The new hull design seems to be a better combo for both sports. Plus I like the TAPS. However, I was looking at a Malibu Sunsetter LXi (2002) with the wedge. Any comments about either boat would help. OR about keeping the 2200i.

| The new 21i has an incredible wake. The boarding wake is massive from 18 to 23 mph. I don;t ski but by looking the wake looks pretty good at higher speeds. Don't forget the versatility you get with TAPS too.

| i personally cannot stand inboards. if you are serious into slalom skiing, then i would think about an inboard, but if you are just out to have fun skiing, then i would go ahead and pay the extra for the vdrive. inboard boats are just too crowded if you have more than 3 people in the boat.

| um......brentgd86, a v-drive is an inboard. i think your trying to say d-drive instead of inboard. both d and v drives are inboard. All of those boats sound great but with the 21i and Sunsetter being the best. I would probably go for the 21i. i like tige more and more every year and their 2003 stuff look great.

E.J., very nice.
DV, I like the Tigés. The wake on the 21i is very solid and the wedge on the Malibu seems like a headache having to reach under there and let it down and the back up.

| Guys, I just got a pretty good deal on a NEW 2001 21i Riders Edition at a dealership here in Texas. So far we love this boat. Of course I'm biased but these boats have a lot to offer. Versatility of Taps, EXCELLENT rough water handeling, plenty of kick back room and storage, and a 315 HP EFI engine. The slolom wakes are flat, and the wakeboard wake is outstanding. One of the best things I like about the TIGE is that thier boats weigh about 1500 lbs. more that other towboats. There is really no need to take up all the storage space with fat sacks. Although you could if you wanted to. I havent found anything that it cant do well, right out of the box.

Just a note, my above post was not meant as a bash against Tige. Just thought it was amusing being that it was a 21i.
I would love to have the 22V.
