I am a dealer, so this is biased.

Most factory built cans sound better and are better built than what I have seen from self-produced product. Obviously, there are people with the skills and materials to make boxes just as good or better. However, once you factor in all the materials and downtime, you may want to consider buying factory built.

My favorites are Loud Liquid and NVS.

Where is "White Potato"??? Confused

The question is: what is your budget for speakers? If you have the cash after the big purchase (of the friking X-Star) I recommend NVS. If you don't, I hear the Monster EVID's do a good job as well. Don't buy cans if you can help it.

Duffy Madness, totally different than the "cans" I spoke of. When I say "cans" I mean automotive grade coax or seperates mounted in "cans".

NVS does not use automotive grade speakers so I should have been more clear.
