Hey all. I have been wake baording for a month or so on a walmart hydroslide board. I liked the size of the board but can only come about 2-3 inches off the top of the wake. My wake is maybe one foot tall. The problem is the hydroslide bindings obviously are garbage. They only velcrowed up at the top and i frequently came flying up out of the boots. After huring my heel a little, I decided its time for a better board.

I purchased the Obrien Oasis 137. Its about he same size as the old board and the boots are so tight and comfy. I have only gotten to go out on them once so far and the water was REAL choppy so I could barely stay up on the board. Not a good test for a new board I know.

One thing that I did notice was that this board comes up out of the water much easier. When a wave would come under my board it would actually pop me up an inch into the air. The old board definitly did not do this.

The other thing I notice is that ive had to adjust the bindings to aim them quite a bit differently than the old board to have the new board aim straight in the water. Is this normal when swithcing board styles?

What else will be different about the board. Will it shoot me out into the air off the wake like a rocket ship? Will I land back into the water like a feather?

Thanks!

swicthing boards is usually hard to beginners becuase they dont know whatto expect....Hydroslide and obrien are obviosly two totally different boards so ride the obrien till you get the hang of it and if you dont like it you might be better off with the hydroslide

Put the O'Brien bindings on the Hydroslide and ride. Then put them on the O'Brien and ride. You will know which one is more comfortable real quick.

I would say go with the O'brien the whole time. I have seen those wal-mart boards and they are like plastic and stuff. The new board will be hard to ride at the beginning, but trust me, it will pay off in the end.
