I was curious if anyone could provide me with an analogy between riding with a pylon/tower and riding without one. I currently ride behind my boat which is a 24 foot monterey, and it has nice wake, but no Pylon, and every time I tell someone or someone sees that I can land back rolls, or they see how high I get, they tell me I could get insane air behind an actual tower. All in all, I'm debating about whether or not to buy a tower of any sort, and after some responses, I was wondering if anyone could tell me a nice, cheap tower or pylon that would mount on a 24 foot monterey. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know where to find the results of the BYOB tourny in Georgia?

Use the "Search" button, it will find lots of the same questions you have.

But for my two cents I would get one it's better, you just have to look around and you will see why people like using a tower/pole then not.

http://forums.wakeboarder.com/viewtopic.php?t=26086 as for one that would fit on your boat you will have to look around more.

TOWER, TOWER, TOWER! Pylons are a pain in the ass to put up/take down after the novelty wares off and the support arms get ALL in the way! Get a tower, you won't regret it.

I say get a tower, increases hang time. Pylons are a pain to get up, towers just fold easier.

Hey Nick,

Towers and pylons offer big advantages. I used to ride with out and would never go back...

First off i totally recommend bumming a ride off a friend who has a tower on their boat, you will feel a considerable difference.

Theres 2 basic plus's to pole:
Big air
Cheap

Then a tower:
Big air
Storage (with racks)

Then dissadvantages:

Pylon:
Takes up space in your boat and won't look to tidy (you'll need a universal one rather then slip on)

Tower:
Not cheap

I always recommend tower, they may be a bit more money ($995+) but you get what you pay for, it looks way better then a pylon and gives you storage space for boards.

if you want a pylon, Big air do a nice universal (www.bigairpylons.com) I have sold quite a few of these and never had a complaint. for the $$$ they cannot be beaten. some universals require struts which invade your space, the big air doesn't. it only uses cables.

For towers: you can go two ways - custom (big bucks but custom fit) or universal. if you want maximim finction, with minimum hassle look at monster tower (monstertower.com) for the bucks they cannot be beaten, the tower is super stiff and their service kicks ass.

hope that helps. Very Happy

p.s disclaimer - ye si sell towers and pylons but am not trying to sell to you. I trade in the UK and europe only. Cool
