Wakebrad,

Erich wrote:

The decks are going to sell for $275.00 and they are sale tax free if you buy thru us online... so you save some money there. I'd like to add that these decks are built with the best materials, and tech available... They are not compression molded... they are more kin to how a snowboard is made. They wont ever warp, lose rocker, take on water, and i highly doubt anyone could ever break one under normal conditions sliding/rails included...
This is a high end part with many complex steps to build, so we are keeping our production level small... depending on how the season goes we might build less than 250 decks total. (Quality not quantity). If we were to build a wake board this same way it would sell in the high $400's to low $500 price range (honey comb/balsa cores are way cheaper) so trust me when i say $275 is a steal, it honestly is. We can do it because our overhead is super low... I'm the only employee and i don't get paid to do this (yet, i hope)... Everyone involved is loaning their time to this project because they believe in it, and want to see it succeed... So thanks to all that are/have been helping out, and supporting this 'Grass Roots' endeavor.

So sweet. I do like the graphics as well, very unique. Looks like I'll have to end up getting one. I think the cassette is almost dead, chunks missing, wapred and missing a layer of wood at one part.... Thankfully the beast is now ready. Great to see everything is up and running! Looking forward to you all coming to waketoberfest again. I think jt, D and I can manage to find a way to top last years fun as well. At least now that we you guys aren't a bunch of tools Twisted Evil

not a scrap of wood in this board... so it won't warp fade or lose it's rocker.
it's all composite materials with the best glues and tri-ax glass developed and used in snowboard mfg. ... closed cell foam which wont absorb water and the rail is a re-shapable high impact/density plastic... with dura-surf/p-tex sintered top and bottom sheets. It will take some serious abuse and last 2 seasons easy...

I have one question, how heavy is the board? lets say in comparision to the byerly skates. Because i can;t stand riding the byerly because its so damn lite. Thats why i ride a wood deck, because i like the feel of a heavier board.

schmaltz... thanks for the advice on the formica (on wakeworld)! a few questions...

-how did you do the graphics? are they printed on some form of paper or card, and then laminated in?

-how did you shape the 3 stage rocker? i guess i could shape the rails differently on my jig to do that.

-how do you create the concave on the top?

-and on many wakeskates... there is about 1" around the edge on the top that is bevelled or round. did you use a router to do this? custom bit, or jig?

thanks a lot! i understand these answers would be giving your secrets away haha... so if you dont want to, that's okay. since i am am pretty much finished this skate, i will not be doing a concave, or anything more to it. however, i'm just looking at ideas for my next skate. anyways thanks a lot... your skates look great!

this seems to be the perfect weight.

for comparison purposes, the 04 cassette reed model is also a 41 and weighs in at 6.6lbs.

vance its pretty tough to find out the weight of hyperlite boards since they tend to change thoughout the course of the year...
