Ok, so I've dedicated the beginning of this wakeboard season to learn how to do a HS FS 360. Everytime I go out (which is usually 3-4 times a week) I make sure I try at least 2 or 3 during every set. I've come close before, but could never get the handle pass down. I would complete the rotation, but would always lose the handle.
Well yesterday we went out to Folsom Lake after work to get a few sets in before it got dark. As the owner of the boat, I always let everyone else get their runs in before I take mine. While everyone else was taking their runs, I kept telling myself that this was the day I would land my 360. All I could think was POP, PULL, PASS.... POP, PULL, PASS... Finally it was my turn. I took a couple warm up runs, making sure I was hitting my W2W's and 180's with no prooblems. I tried a couple of 360's, with no luck. Starting to get tired and sore, I decided I would go for it one more time. Well, I approached the wake, had a nice edge going. I popped off the wake, all the time thinking POP, PULL, PASS. I gave a nice yank on the rope to my right hip, I reached back with my other hand, and felt something that I had never had the pleasure of feeling but had always wanted to, my handle. I completed the rotation and landed softly on the opposite wake. Now here is why I'm mad. When I landed the 360, I was in kind of a sitting position. By this time I had both hands back on the handle and was starting to stand up so that I could ride away into the sunset. Well, while I was crouched down, there must have been a lot of spray coming off of my board, because my F%&#*&G Flag Man held up the flag and yelled (I can still hear it ringing in my head) DOWN! Of course thinking that I had bailed on another 360 attempt, the driver pulled back the throttle and came to a stop. I could feel the boat slowing down. I'm thinking no way, what is he doing, I got this! As the boat was slowing, I was yelling at the top of my lungs to keep going, but between the engine noise and stereo, they could not hear me.

Anyway, I just had to get that off of my chest. I have been trying these damn 360's since last summer. My friends in the boat, trying to pep me up, all agreed to count that as a successful 360, but it would have been much more satisfying to ride it out.

I guess I can't be to mad. At least I know that I can do it, and that It is not an impossible dream as previously thought. Confused

What's up chavez-y-chavez,

Yeah I'll be out at the open on Saturday. We'll be riding on the river on Sunday. Do you have any info on the open (what time it starts, how much $$ to get in)?

pureliquid, Sunday will be the better of the days (even though there is less riding).

I may/may not be there on Saturday depending on who wants to pull me up and down the river... Cool

yea i always tell people in the boat to never stop unless they see the handle bouncing accross the top of the water, never ever assume the rider cant pull out atrick..its always possible to crash hard and slide back up..i wouldnt be mad you know you had plus they didnt knoiw better just make sure next time they know better before you get in the water ..remind them not to let up until they see you have no chance or no handle in your hand...

well u still got the trick it sounds like. If you were crouched down and on the other side of the wake, u landed it. But next time ull get to ride away hopefully..

Awesome about your 360 pureliquid. I'm trying to get mine right now, but have the same issues you do.

Your flagger story reminds me of when we took my moronic roommate out. My g/f who drives the boat told him to raise the flag when I fall. My roomie understood and we went out for our first run.

Well I go for my 360, make the rotation, but lose the handle. I'm still skating across the top of the water, but the handle is obviously out of my hands. My roomie, starts going, "Uh, wait, uh.." so my g/f turns around and sees the handle skipping across the water. I'm still up so my roommate starts going, "wait, he might make it, hang on"... My g/f just rolled her eyes and turned the boat around. What a moron!

Don't stop the boat until the handle gets ripped out of their hand!
