Does anybody else watch The Shield?

Man, I can't get over how well written and shot that show is.

EVERY episode is noteworthy. It makes me feel, after every episode, the way that "The Sopranos" used to.

It is always action packed without being cheesy, and something shocks almost every episode. Last nights was great, as usual.

CB I too am amazed that more people are not into this show. I have watched it from day one Vic is the ultimate good/bad guy. And you are right there is always something that leaves you scratching yo head.

Im an occasional watcher (more of a Law and Order guy but have caught a few episodes of the Shield) It is VERY well shot and always intense. The episode that I thought was messed up was a while back when that high ranking detective was "abused" by the ex-con at gunpoint in that house. I was just speachless!! I couldnt laugh, and I couldnt walk away. Just stunned, thinking, "no freakin way!"

It's on at 10pm Tuesday night on FX.

The show is awesome in part because it acknowledges and plays with the idea that there is no black and white, only shade of grey.

Like Vic, he cares about innocent people. He protected that hooker from season 1. He stands up for weak people. He's a stand up guy who intensly hates the bad guys.

BUT

He protects drug dealers if he can controll them, rationalizing that they can get bigger fish that way and ultimately bust more crimnals.

He and the Strike team have NO qualms about stealing drug evidence and ripping off the Money Train.

Same with Aceveda. He was a good cop, but his bid for political power had him compromising himself first a little, but politics is turning him more and more tword the dark side, I think.

The gay cop who is trying to be straight, Shane being the worlds biggest dumby wumby, Dutch, now possibly into child porn? Wow.

The characters are so well developed, as are the plots and the theme of the greyness of things.

MY favorite characters are Lemonhead and Ronnie, the only characters that don't seem to have MAJOR issues.

Man, so well done.

Last nights episode, as usual, kicked ass. As usual, it was action packed but believable, had conflict both internal and external, the girl Vic is sleeping with is hot, they didn't show too much of CCH Pounder in the shower Wink

.

Just awesome. The BEST show on television. Every Shield episode lives up to even last Sunday's Sopranos.

Again, kick ass episode. I love Lem, he's the best. I was hoping that they would just get rid of that money. Shane is a psycho, and I bet that Lemonhead tries to leave the team, but that Shane would turn the rest of them in to save himself. He's a weasel.

Cameraboy, when you were describing Vic in your earlier post it sounded like Denzel Washington's character in Training Day with the whole protecting the smaller drug dealers and such to bring in the big guys.

They are saying SH@t a lot on the Shield now.

I'm starting to think that Vic is turning more bad than good now. The season finale is next week. I bet somebody gets shot or killed.

Another really good show is The Amazing Race. A new season starts July 6th, and this will be the best season yet!!!!

In the first 30 minutes there's blood, airport arguements, teams fighting teams, teams fighting themselves, and a midget.

It's fricken great!!!
