So far this year about half way through my runs my lower back on my trailing side starts to get sore and ache. I never noticed this before though. Could this be because I have let my form slip or is it just because i need to strengthen my back? I have been working out quite a bit but I havn't been focusing on my back that much.

I don't have any footage or pictures of me riding yet this year, so I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem.

dude i have that EXACT problem. i read in WBM that it can be caused from: a) stance on board to wide or b) stance is to ducked. i brought my stance in one notch and took in my bindings...nothing. one thing that i have found out is that it really only hurts when i carve TS to hit the wake HS, so maybe it has to do with how you carve, if you bend your back too much or not enough. i dont know.

i dont have that EXACT problem. My lower back doesnt hurt everytime i ride, but last year i landed all weird on the top of the wake and pulled out my lower back somehow. It hurt so much and didnt go away for like 2 weeks. That is the only problem i have had with my lower back so sorry if that doesnt help. Just thought maybe somehow the injury could be related. Confused

I was having the same problem a few months ago, my back was aching after every ride. A friend and fellow rider suggested that maybe I wasn't standing straight enough on my board (i.e. letting the boat drag me vs. standing up w/ arms straight, back stiff and handle by my waist). He was right, the day I began working on my stance my back stopped doing all the work (and I began getting more pop off the wake)! Your ride should be giving your Abs more of a workout than your back... I don't know if this is your problem, I'm sure there could be other explinations, but this was my solution! Hope you figure it out.

Thanks for the help. Over the winter I got a newer board and when I put the bindings on it I put them most of the way out so like wakejunkie137, said this may be the problem. I'm going this weekend and if it isn't better after fixing this then I will check my form. This could also be part of the problem, because since I have been riding for such a long time every once in a while I will catch my self riding sloppy.
