I just got a wakeboard over the weekend and tried it out Sunday. I wanted to know if anyone thought it would be easier to do behind a boat. I have a boat and a Sea-Doo, but I heard it was fine behind a Sea-Doo. I dunno, I figured someone would know the answer. I am having a very hard time getting up. I figure I should watch some instructional videos. I don't know anyone who wakeboards. Thanks for any suggestions ! _________________ Life is what you make of it, make it fun! |

When you try to get up, make shure you let the boat do the work. It is a pain in the a$$, literally, when you pop up too early. Keep your knees at you chest with the rope in the middle and stay till you feel like the boat is going to pull you to your feet and then stand. Don't lean to far forward, and find a comfortable position. _________________ Duct tape is like the force.

PrincessKisstal, It will be easier behind a boat because the boat will have more horsepower(usually) _________________ I'd rather die trying than live wondering

its ALOT harder to get up behind a sea-doo because
#1 the speed used to pull you up will NEVER be consistent
#2 your rope is ALOT closer to the water, which means you have to put in more effort
#3 even when you do get up, it will be hard to work onm riding because the ride will be so inconsistent and choppy....
trust me..i know from experience _________________ finally got my boat!!!

| ya just go straight to a boat... it will be way easier... for getting up the thing that most ppl have troubles with is that they try to push against the water... they push with their legs and pull with their arms... your just suposed to stay relaxed and balenced over your board... just angle your toes towards the boat and relax... the less effort u use the easier it is to get up |

instead of ripping on your boat, i will help answer your question...
if you do it right you can get up behind anything.. jet ski, out board, i/o , seadoo etc...
i prefer the deep water start...
sit in a chair position to start with...
sit comfortably in the water slightly back but head up and looking forward.
wrap arms around your knees (elbows will be in line with knees)
bring your hands together to hold the handle between your feet a few inches from the board.
have the driver drive really really slow... the slower the better for beginners... i have taught 7 people in 2 days... one guy got up the third time... and teh other the 10th.
as the boat pulls, keep centered.. .some people like to put one end of the board up but then you will have to start pulling out of the water...
just keep centered and as the boat pulls you let teh board sink UNDER water where your heels come below your boat... then sit comfortable in teh posistion... the board will be at a 45 degree angle.... and will plane out and above the water on its own...
do not worry when the board goes under water.. just let it go into position and keep sitting in teh position till you come out... you will pop up.. then sit there until you are ready to stand up... you will get it .. its very easy once you allow yourself to follow the basic steps..
