|
|
I just got a new premier, and i hit kickers and sliders nonstop (i ride cable) and the first day i rode the board, the screws for my fins bent, it was the srews and fins that came with it, then someone bent them back, and itook it easy so it wouldnt happen again, then my dad went out, and bought supposidly better screws from home depot, bent again, so i just decided to go finless. this happen to anyone else? it was with those hyperlite aluminum fins or something, i saw this happen with the parks fins also, does this have to do with the fins or screws? just wondering, what are all your thoughts on this?
by the way, this is my 250th post, yay, just thought i would share that also |

thats not true about no fins on cable, if you want them you can ride with them, and riding with fins and hitting kickers and sliders has nothing to do with it beingcable or not, you just dont want to use fins that are too big, you can use smaller ones
getting 250 is exciting isnt it |

| maybe it's because the metal fins won't break so they put extra force on the screw where as a fiberglass fin would just break off |

| you got a point there, but if thats the case, why didnt my fins on my old board (02 trip, 3 fins on each side) break??? from hitting alot of stuff after a while, all they did was get flat on the top, instead of like curved, they never broke though |

| is the tip of the fin flush with the board---i have the premier with aluminum fins and there is a small gap(a millimeter or 2 or 3) and this could be cathing on the slider/kicker and pulling at the screws |

| ooo, i dont think there is, i dont ride with the fins anymore, so i wouldnt know, plus everytime the screws bent, its made the fin dig into my board, creating a tiny gash, and if it kept doing that it would turn into a big gash |

| although the thing thats kind of bad about riding with no fins, and hitting kickers and sliders alot, is my molded fins are already starting to wear in a little, hopefully they wont break soon, the board is like 3 weeks old, and i already put a crack in the corner on the tip of the molded fin |

| i checked it out, it looks pretty good, i already have fins though, i even have slider fins, its not the fins that were bad, it was the screws, plus i like it finless, it doesnt matter to me as much, im not riding finless just to set my board up for sliders, i ride with 3 fins on my trip before i got a new board, i just like it finless for all my riding, not just kickers and sliders |
