Buy some books & magazines & study those. Learning music theory is a GREAT way to learn different licks & even make up your own. Eventually you should train your ear to pick stuff up. I don't get stuff off the internet 'cuz half the time it's wrong or the hardest part of the song isn't tabbed out so it's useless.

If you're just learning internet tabs are okay. The easiest way to teach yourself would probably to get a book of chords and learn those then find a somewhat easy song that you like and get the tabs off the internet. Once yuou get that work on the transitions between the chords and eventually you'll figure out the song.

My sister has a washburn acoustic.
Ive noticed that playing guitar can help you pick up chicks and help you get some action if you play sappy shizzle to them

ive been playing since 10th grade but never really been serious about it over a long period of time. i was startin to put some time into it but i had to give my world geography teacher my old guitar cause i got caught cheating on my final so i was without a guitar for a couple months. so i guess you could say 4 years but i dont show it.

it depends on how much you hands can handle for what kind of strings you want. Like my finger tips have calloses on them so it doesn't hurt to play any more. Even though that sounds gross. Espically on a chick. and also what kind of guitar you have. it is harder to play an acoustic because you have to press down further on the strings. that is what I am learning on.

I use Ernie ball slinkys lights and heavy. Lights for punk stuff cause they sound poopy almost and heavys for more alternitive /metal. I also find that there are easier on the fingers.

Ive been playing bass for about 3 years and guitar for about a year and a half. Hey aubs i can sing too! Razz
