Has anyone tried these yet? They look like a good deal and I am considering them for my SV-211, but would like to here from someone who has tried them.
Thanks

Thanks Xaggerate, will you be rideing with someone who has a set or are you buying some? Also could you give me some suggestions about sub placement on an SV-211. I was wondering how a sub would sound in one of the back storage lockers. Someone told me it wouldn't sound good sealed in a storage box. Is there a sub that works well in free air, if so I could put one under the drivers console.

I already bought them...will be installed this friday....
As far as a sub goes..I'd STRONGLY suggest a ported box....

| I just installed the MT Evids... they sound great... I thought they would be high and tinny sounding... but great full range sound in a wide open environment.

Bad news, Monster Tower made a thread last week, they discontinued the evid tower speakers, beacause the speakermanufacturer was trying to give them the shaft...
But they might still have some inventory left though...

When I ordered mine mid last week, I know they were below 15..probably closer to 10...I'd be very conscious about these going BYE BYE soon..
I so wanted to copy NVS's design...I could have done it far cheaper

I just ordered mine this afternoon. I don't know how many they had left but I got an e-mail saying my order had been completed and shipped with a UPS tracking number. Glad I jumped on them when I did.

I personally think the 6.2' are great tower speakers. The person I worked with at the company was great, he really busted his butt for us. We just got caught in some major changes goin on (new CEO, new Oracle implementation, etc) which raised prices and made product hard to get for a while. Wish we could have worked throught it all but with our new speaker pricing the price on our system would have been over $700, and for that money people should go another bill and get some bling cans. Am I wrong? Would $695 still be good? Retail is like $550 but you can buy just the speakers for about $450 at etailers.
We are going to now provide "kits" for converting existing outdoor speakers (Bose 151's, KB600's and Evid 6.2's) with instructions to make them tower ready. The KB600's are the only speaker we will provide ready to go.
For the Evid speakers we have provided they are fully warrantied by Electrovoice for the audio side per their warranty, and for 5 years on the mounting system we provide. I have a half dozen pair in our storage so we can support the product as needed as well.

Hey guys. a buddy of mine bought a pair of the evids locally and used his clamps off his boss old boss speakers. he put a large thick piece of steel on the inside of the enclosures and the bolted them straight to the old clamps. They sounded awesome! I was very impressed, but he wanted more bass. If you have experience w/ 99% of the tower speakers out there, you know bass is real hard to get at a distance. So being the DIY guy he is, he purchased 4 x 10" speakers and 2 x 6" round horns and built cans for everything. the speakers are similar to the NVS 10's but with a round full range horn and a but better specs on the speakers. he made all his own cans from sched 80 and used 3 tower clamps per side. I finally saw them mounted on saturday and to say the least they are freaking HUGE! He tunred them on in the garage, but i couldn't get far away from them enough to get my ears to stop bleeding so i could atcually hear them. were doing a camping trip this weekend and we'll be bringing his ride along as well. I'll let you know how they sound and try to snap a few pics and post them as well.

Man O Man, I just finished hooking everything up. I now have the four cabin speakers on the Marine Audio Amp that came with the boat. I have the Evid 6.2's on the tower powered by an Orion 4004 which I have bridged for two channels at 200 watts per channel RMS at 4 oms. I have it set where the cabin speakers are on the front channel and the tower speakers are on the rear, this way I can fade the cabin speakers down and crank the tower speakers. I also have a Bazooka 10 inch sub tube in my rear compartment, it has a built in 150 watt amp.
All I can say is that the sound from the tower speakers is awesome, I can't wait till tomorrow when I get it on the water to see what it sounds like behind the boat. I cranked it in the yard and walked 400 feet behind the boat and it was super loud and clear. I am very pleased with the sound quality.
I will try to snap some pic's this weekend of the install and how it looks on the water.

The little black box is the Marine Audio 40 watt amp that came with the boat. It runs the stock cabin speakers.

I had a pair installed on the MonsterTower on my Moomba. They did a fair job of pumping out sound if you put some power in them (say 100 watts RMS or better per channel). I also tried a pair of Raul's large cans with Alpine coax's in them on my tower, but wasn't really impressed with the sound qulaity (or quantity) of that setup either. Right now my tower is bare of speakers all together while I'm considering either a custom fiberglas tower box with four 6x9's, or a pair of the Evid's, powered by a recently aquired 600 watt Kicker KX amp.
Where in Orlando are you, and where do you ride?

The Evids need a lot of power since they are 8 Ohm. They are insane, painfully loud with 400W/Ch at 4 ohm and do really good at half that but with less than 200W each at 4 ohm they dont hit their sweet spot.

Are you saying I need more power on them. I went by the specs on your web site which said 150 to 200 watts RMS. I thought I was maxing them out at 200 watts at 4 ohm each as it said to do on your web site. If I had known I needed 400 watts each that's what I would have done, this is disappointing.

Sorry, my bad. The Kicker 800.4 I was referring to is actually half that power, that was the 2 Ohm rating, it is 100 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms and since I bridge two channels going into each Evid I'm pretty sure I was delivering them 200W each at 4 Ohm so your in good shape.
I heard them with half that (100W RMS/4 Ohm) and they sounded good but would not go as loud before hearing the distortion in the signal.
I know enough to be dangerous when it comes to audio
