Hey Guys,
I'm going to be using a board rack for my extended pylon this season. I'm anticipating a problem. Perhaps someone on this board can offer some first hand insight.

I'm guessing that if the board rack is mounted too high, the rope will have a tendency to get caught on the board(s). Is this a problem? If so, is there an optimal distance from the top of the pylon to mount the rack? If it's still a problem, are the rope guides (like Fly High), useful in this situation?
Thanks

I'd appreciate some help on this one, too. All of my buddies are getting boards now and I'm thinking about getting one for my Southwind. Thanks.

in overtons catalog, they sell a metal rod for their pylon that stick out horizontally from the top of the pole. At the end of the rod, is a loop. You run your rope through this loop first, and it keeps the rope off of the boards.

seems like it would work.

I bought one during the winter and put it on the pylon at the house. It looks like to me that if only two boards are on it, and the boots are facing down, I will be able to have it about 3/4 a foot from the top. But when the boots face up, it looks like they will be in the way a lot. Lucky for me that there is usually only two boards in my boat. Sometimes more, but as long as it is two I think I will safe.

The rope will get caught on the fly-high racks. We used a 'shock tube' that is used to prevent the rope from recoiling back into the boat when a slalom skier bails. It works great.
