Ok, Friday it's raining freaking sooo hard that it makes you not want to go out. Saturday- Just Amazing out. Not a cloud in the sky, so we go to the lake. Same with Sunday, Goregous....
Then Monday- cold as $hit and it ices here. Roads shut down and I get to leave work early. Tuesday, come in to work at 11, because the roads are frozen with ice... What gives with all this crappy weather? I think the weather must be female, the way she keeps changeing her mind on what she wants it to be like.

At least you could make it to work. I live in the hills and couldn't get more than 1/2 a mile from my house! I am still stuck here....bored off my arse...I guess I could do some household chores, but that's not much fun.

dees - TX got blasted out of nowhere last night. Temps in the high 70s-low 80s this weekend and then BAM! Central TX is iced over and temp is around 28 right now....Dallas got it twice as bad from what I have heard. It happens about once every 5 years down here. Wouldn't be too bad, but we don't have enough sand trucks.

Man, I just went to grocery store yesterday and bought all kinds of junk to eat today. I can't even get out of the driveway and my 4x4 truck is blocked in by my little truck so my hubbie and I walked a mile to blockbuster. There were cars on the street that people just had to walk away from. It was so funny guess we can have a car stereo free for all later tonight. Oh one of the car's had a old old hyperlite traditional board with foot straps in the front seat now that was a sight.

Apparently you haven't been to Wisconsin. Remember my post on how when its usually negative out and then when its 50 you can go out in shorts? That was based on a true experience which changed 4 times in one week.

We took out the old liquid Force sponge wakeskate and hooked up a rope to the tow hitch of my friends tahoe. We found a field behind leander highschool and cruised around on that. It was a lot of fun, we videotaped it. then last night we found a nice driveway and tried to skateboard on it and wakeskate. I'll have to get my friends who taped it to put up some of the shots.

Yesterday started out sucking....BORED out of my mind stuck at home all day...but ended up sweet!

When my roomie came home (with the only 4x4 at the house) we piled in, hit the store and went to another friend's house.....several bottles of red wine, a couple cases of beer, steaks, pork tenderloin, jenga, hottub, Dazed and Confused, a little chronic....MUCH better ending to the day!

By the way...this ice is greatness! I always feel (wrongly and jealously, I know) good when bad things happen to rich people...I live in Westlake, just off of Westlake Dr (the rich ass area of Austin - I got lucky and live in a very affordable duplex)...you should see the 100s of 1000s of $$$$ worth of cars sitting on the side of the road and off in ditches. In one 100yd stretch, I saw a 911 turbo, 2 BMW 5s, a Suzuki SV650 motorcylce, a Mercedes plus several others. If these people are smart enough to earn enough money to buy these nice rides, why aren't they smart enough to leave them at home when you can't drive on the roads? WTF was the motorcyle guy thinking?

naw...the 911 Turbo was metallic purple. I actually kind of know who's it is - A husband and wife have matching 911 turbos, one purple, one yellow. They used to come into Bitter End/Sullivan's/Mezzaluna all the time when I worked at the BE and always had them valeted right next to one another. Pretty sure it is the same one. Saw another ragtop 911 (red) stuck out there too.

In Cali they are saying its going to be an El Nino year which means lots of rain into spring. Big surf at the coast and lots of snow in the mountains so it's good for everything.

Yeah it's been pretty bad up here in Dallas last several days. We got 3" of ice/snow Monday and none of it melted yesterday and it's just starting to melt today. I heard on the radio they shut down I35 from Hillsboro to Georgetown - are you kiddin me? Only probably THE most important highway in Tejas.

It does kill me to watch people drive in this stuff. Went to the store last night (kept the Z in 2wd so I could play) and watched people in 4wd trucks going 5mph down the roads! People - you paid good money for the 4wd so use it.

Raider Lefty,

We do alot of work with a company that has a one of their corporate offices in Dallas and they are shut down today due to that ice storm you were mentioning.

Good luck out there.

Ya you basically can't get into downtown today - all the overpasses are closed or severly iced over.

Thank God I work out of my house.

Yeah, the highway was STILL shut down earlier today. They were making everyone drive on the feeder... That would have sucked. It's starting to melt some today, I think we hit the high of 34 here downtown ATX. I have an indoor game tonight at 6:45 and I hope all the freaking weirdos that can't drive are at home by then.

Just came back from outside, some chic came rolling up into the parking lot at 100 mph this morning, it was covered with ice and slammed into the median in the parking lot, pulled her off, another guy in a cherokee pulled up some incline covered with ice, he slid back down, and hit the building, man some people are stupid!
