Is it nessecery to use marine grade speakers and amps? I was looking at kicker but they don't have marine grade amps that I could find, but clarion does have a full line marine grade equipment. What are some of the setups you guys are jamming to?

Marine speakers are not necessary. You can use any good quality speakers. Most of the good quality speakers have poly cones or some sort of plastic cones that are water resistant. All of my equipment is car audio. It won't hurt them if you get a little water on them.

Just try to stay away from car audio speakers that have foam surrounds or coated cones. Neither of these handle water very well. Most all of the good stuff (Alpine, Polk, Pioneer, etc) have rubber surrounds and cones that handle moisture pretty well.
