Is it still under warranty? If so, take it in. I've been having problems with mine also. I have to "work them" to get them to fire sometimes. It seems the motor wasn't able to overcome reversing the impeller. Dealer found they were drawing 20 amps! Shocked Should only draw 10.
Anyway...dealer called MC and MC is sending 3 replacement pumps. MC wants to know if they draw the same amperage once installed.

Have you had your impellers replaced under the impeller recall?

Check in the tech forums/recalls and service bulletins on www.mymastercraft.com

colefooter, you have a malibu, they are talking about mastercrafts...STOP WITH THE USELESS POSTS! PLEASE!

friend was having problems with his x-star pumps on his 03 and was sent 3 new pumps only 2 weeks ago, so im sure that you should be able to have them sent to you. his dealer also told him to check in a month or so to see if that did the trick for sure...something to do with mastercraft wanting a report on them.

I have an 01 x-10. It is a common problem. Drive in reverse for 10 to 20 seconds with your pumps on. This should force prime them. Not sure on the amp draw. Because the pump is vortexing it could be causing more draw.

my o3' pumps are weak also. get the new replacement impellers and cut off the round end on every other impeller blade with a pair of wire cutters. mine had the exact same problem and are working fine now. anymore problems and i'm sending all three units back to MC.

yeah, i gotcha. the thing is, when you are buying mastercraft, and a few other brands for that matter, you are paying a lot for the name, and for the team which is really associated the name part.

everytime something goes wrong with ours, or a friends malibu, mastercraft, or our nautique, it always seems to make companies like moomba seem really great, where you are getting a similar product for a sh!zzload cheaper...
