I am planning to build a kicker but unless i buy the treated plywood for the sides the wood will fall apart in the water. The plans from this site say to use 3/4 in plywood for the sides. I could water seal it and/or paint it so it would last longer but there has to be a better way! I dont know what to use that would be cheaper than 3/4 in treated plywood. I am trying to save money but build a nice kicker. If you have any suggestions please reply! Thanks

you might try buying regular plywood and use a really good wood primer like kilz or something. just make sure it's sealed good.

don't use treated wood, it is a waste of money. The water will get to it long before the bugs will. I never paint my kickers, and they seem to work fine. By the time your first one is totally rotted, you will be ready to build another.
