I just got a wakeskate and went once and sometimes when i'm cutting out the board just gets off edge and slips out. My board has really small fins. i was wondering if i'm falling because the fins are so much smaller than i'm used to from my wakeboard or because that's how wakeskating is and i just have to get used to it?

You are not edgeing properly. I skate with no fins and can slash the wake with the best of them. PROGESSIVE EDGE is the key

try and keep the board on a perpendicular plane with your body and try not to lean towards becoming even with the board when you are cutting in.

that would have nothing to do with the board slipping out.

Yes it does. Its not the whole reason, but could be part of the problem. Mabye his feet are to far to the back, causing the board to slip out all the time.
