My prostar is wanting to die on me when I wakeboard and the engine is hot. yet if I let the boat chill on the shore for awhile then it runs fine until I start wakeboarding again. Seems like if it was the carb then it would do it all the time. It only dies at a idle, Runs fine at higher RPM.

Also When I was coming into shore the other day my engine just quit. I went to restart it and there was nothing. I know it wasnt the battery because the boat fires up after a little bit. It seems to me to be a bad connection. Anyone had this problem. I just put a high output allternator in the boat. It only started after I installed it. thanks for any input

Intake leak?

Not starting, try shorting the start directly to the battery and see if it turns over.

I had a similar problem, it was crap in the gas lines, along with a little moisture. Installed a BIG inline fuel filter and water separator, cleaned the fuel pump, and adjusted the lean/rich mix, now runs great.

Since it only happens when hot, it might be an intake leak. Cracked intake manifold, or not properly torqued down, bad gasket, etc...

Give skidim.com a call.

Your motor could be getting too hot, inturn, boiling the fuel in the lines. See if you can insulate teh fuel lines better, also, check you thermostat.

I've never heard of vapor lock on a boat. There typically aren't any long runs using metal tube next to heat sources such as exhaust, but I guess anything is possible.

Give skidim.com a call.... They will get you started in the right direction.

I know one of my manifolds has a tiny crack in it, my dealer said I should be fine for the season though. Could that be the problem? Seems to me to be getting to hot, but the thermostat reads fine. Reason being because once you let the boat sit for awhile it runs great.
