......that smell when you first take the cover off of the boat? Kind of like oil and gas and vinyl and slightly damp carpet? It makes me get butterflies in my stomach.

Come on man! You mean to tell me that the smell of gasoline burning and lake water doesn't do something mystical to you? That's the smell of summer!

I do it every chance I get. It makes you a better rider. Or at least you think you are a better rider. Also, drinking bilge water helps too.

Seriously, though I LOVE that smell.

yea, i got it the other day when i realized i left the faceplate in the boat, a few hours after we had taken it out and covered it, so i just climbed in under the cover, i was overpowered by the warm (engine still cooling) gas/bilgewater scented air

I get a tingly feeling everytime I get home from work and park my truck right next to my boat. Then that feeling turns to anxiety when I realize it is too late in the day to get up to the lake on time. Crying or Very sad

What's exciting is taking the shrink wrap off a brand new boat from the factory for the first time. My buddy is a Malibu dealer so sometimes I am around when he gets the boats delivered. Boats come from TN to him. That's sweet. Unwrapped an 04 vlx about a month ago, waiting for an 05 in July.
