Is this misleading or what? Wakeboards feel nothing like snowboards. Correct me if i am wrong, but isn't this a terrible way to describe the board charactoristics that you are looking for? _________________ Thats gonna leave a mark!! |

| It seems perfectly normal to me. That would mean a really loose board. |

LF Substance, is very snowboard-ish. It needs to be ridden tail heavy and is real loose until you set the tail end in. I went snowboading a month ago and rode the 04 substance 142 last Friday and it seem to be the best snowboard mimic I have ever ride _________________ www.integrity-wake.com

I think the LF team feels alot like a snowboard. In the fact you can slid around til you wanna edge, then I just lift my toe and it edges. Most other boards I have to lean back and stuff...Maybe its just me? _________________ www.Shadrack.com

| i dont think a loose board nesscesarily means it feels like a snowboard. wakeboards and snowboards have very different mechanics in the way they are ridden because of shape and what they are ridden on. from what i remember on a snowboard you lean forward more and on a wakeboard you lean back against the rope and to really dig the fins in. |

| I love my 39 LF Team. Riding the right board makes a huge difference, I've never felt so comfortable on a board before and I've been doing everything a lot bigger. |

| Hyperlite Fluid is a snowboard style board. They ride pretty nice for a all around riding level. |

WakeSessions, how is the fluid a snowboard style board? That thing has huge fins on it and has a rounded tail. I think it's a good board for all around/beginner riding but the opposite of a snowboard. It locks you in when you're flat and you don't even have to lean on the edges to cut because of the size of the center fin.
My first board was a fluid... still use it for sliders etc..
I can see how they could market wakeboards saying its a snowboard feel. While you do lean forward and steer with your back foot in snowboarding, snowboarding is really loose and requires you to use your edges. Thats a good description of a 3 stage rocker with hard edges and side/molded fins |

| Call me crazy, but arent snowboarding and wakeboarding two completely different riding styles? Wakeboarding, you need to keep a lot of weight on your backfoot, while snowboarding you need to keep the weight equal. Also, edging is very different. I dunno, maybe i dont understand the point of this, but I know that i consider snowboarding and wakeboarding two completely different things. |

I agree that it's really not a snowboard style board (the fluid, that is) but when shaun designed the curvy board (It used to be squared off on the ends) he had snowboarding in mind.
As for the snowboard style wakeboards, I can understand what some people are saying when they want that. They want a board that is loose and more rail dependant...the substance or really any finless board mimics that. After that I think the two are completely different...snowboards have side cut, flex, and camber, and it's more difficult for a beginner to turn properly on a snowboard than it is on a wakeboard...hell, the turning mechanics are just different. And as others have mentioned, weight distribution is also a factor. _________________ J.L.A. Is Snowboarding

imo the obrien vision without fins has some nice snowboard feel to it. slippery when flat, but has a sharp edge when you want it. the ability to speed check when your flying around corners is a nice option. and its one of the only boards that has a stance wide enough like my snowboard. _________________ My Gallery
