X-Star Weighting

For those of you with X-Stars, whats the best way to weight it to get a nice clean, hard wake? Preferably like a Super Air, steep and crisp. all suggestions welcome.

I'm talking about 2002 and earlier X-Stars or the 2003 "x2". Not the new x-Star because obviously nobody has ridden in one.

my setup last year - stock ballast (1 sack - i thought 350 lb, 2 tanks - total 500 lbs). 350's on both sides of the engine, and a 700 lb sac in the front walkway. i only weighted it like that when there were 3 or 4 people in the boat. total = around 2800 lbs. the wake was awesome. a little sluggish out of the hole, but no big deal.

this years setup - remove the hard tanks out of the back. add 600 lb sac on each side. keep the front the same. maybe use a few sandbags if needed. we will have to wait and see.

I agree with Mossy on his weighting setup. We went out on my 02X Saturday and had the stock Triple KGB full (900lbs) then a 350# on each side of the engine and a 600lb sac in the bow. We had 4 guys in the boat with gear as well. Boat was a little slow out of the hole but not anything to be worried about.

mine is an 01' and i weight like this all three factory tanks full, sidesacs in back an each side of the engine, a 600 up front between the bow seats filled to about 350, 100 under the bow seats. this makes the wake thick, but rampy. If you want the wake more vertical move the weight further back. total 1800-1900
here is a pic from last summer. rider is about 6'1",205; riding at 65'; at 21.5mph.

My friends don't add quite as much weight and they still have a nice big solid wake. They usually have an extra 180# of each side of the engine plus a 350# sack up front. That's in addition to the stock ballast and 3 guys in the boat.
