Hey, I just wanted to get everybody's opinion on this. Please give the reason why you think your boat of choice is the best.

Everyone is going to have different preferences because they look for different things in a boat. There is not just "one best boat" out on the market.

Oh god! This is going to be a fun post to watch, I must put this in my favourites. You have probably just started WW3, let the posting begin!

I have to say the 2003-04 MasterCraft X-Star or the 2004 Super Air Nautique. I dont own either, but every penny is going into the bank to get one real soon!!!!

if you have the money, go SAN or X-Star. if not, the mb sports vx3 team is a great boat with a 2 speed tranny and 2100 lbs of ballast. tige also has a great products, and so does mobius and supra.

It all depends on what you want. If you're looking for a good boat for a family, and might be waterskiing, pulling tubers, partying, ect then one boat is going to be better, compaired to a boat you want for pure wakeboarding (cough..cough...X-star...cough). The best, and only real way to tell what you want is to demo, ride everything, and make the best decision for yourself.

BrtnDan I'm looking for the all out best wakeboarding boat on the market, cost doesn't matter. Why do you think the X-star is the best?

If you ask 5 people you'll get 5 responses to the question.

Person 1: Super Air Nautique
Person 2: Master Craft X-Star
Person 3: Supra Launch
Person 4: Malibu Wakesetter
Person 5: Tige

Each answer is likely to be as valid as the next. All I can say is that Nautique and Mastercraft's made during the 80's are still going strong - that is what I have personal experience with... That longevity is probably something inherent to a good inboard boat, and likely goes for all of the above mentioned boats.

It's just impossible to tell what will last a long time. As for initial enjoyment, I bet they're all equal to some degree. I personally like the 2003 Super Air Nautique the most of any boat out there, and second place is Supra Launch or X-Star. Seriously, this is a tough question to ask and narrow it down even to three finalists. I do know Correct Craft and Master Craft would be in most folks' top tier of wake boats...The remainder is sort of interchangeable depending on who you ask and if they own Tiges, Malibus, Supras, Mobius, and all the others.

I think this will lead to the same place eventually - the best boat for wakeboarding is the X star.

however that doesn't mean tis the best boat. you will have to be an intermediate/advanced rider to even think about riding behind it.. that wake is HUGE and very vertical. also its pretty wide. not every one can just ride behind an x star. also the Xstar is massively expensive, however as you say cost inn't an issue then its no problem.

The X 2 IMO is the better all rounder. you can learn behind it but it also offers an incredible wake.

if you want to ski and board then you can't ignore tige (22v sounds perfect) but seeing as you want it for boarding only then i'd take it out of the equation.

Maybe as previously stated th ebest thing is to demo as many boats as you can.. but with your budget lok only at th every high end boats such as svfara marine is that even spelt right!?!) , mastercraft and correct craft.

WakeProdigy, It doesn't sound to me like you started this thread to fire up another boat war, but it could end up that way - I am actually pleasently surprised at the civility shown so far!

Go search this forum (boats & accesories) - you will find a TON of boat war info - plenty of intelligent points and a ton of stupid ones. In the end, it comes down to what you are willing to spend, how the dealer treats customers after the sale and what YOU want in your boat. You can't go wrong with any of the 5 makes Erik mentioned above.

I had this EXACT talk with my neighbor yesterday - he is looking at the Mastercraft X2, Malibu VLX and SAN LE - all in the $47K range. We went back and forth over +/- on all 3 and in the end, storage space and dealership are going to be the deciding factors for him. (which creates another dilemna because MC and Bu have WAY more storage, but CC has the best dealership for him)

I like boat war and brand loyalty threads - especially when they can't be proven in any direction. I have plenty of opinions that are stupid and unprovable. Smile

I mean, what is the best 80's era wakeboarding boat - EASY the Ski Nautique 2001.

What is the best wakeboarding boat in 2003 or 2004? Really, over time, nobody can know that yet. They're almost all good. I have a personal hangup about Tiges and Malibus but I am just one person with just one s#itty little opinion. There's no other basis to judge this sort of thing, beyond what boat YOU like and want to own. It also dosent hurt if the finances work out in a particular way with a particular boat.

honestly, this is like asking who the hottest girl in the world is... and no it's not going to come down to one answer. Some people like the X-star, others like SANs, still others (like me) are going to swear by Tigé. It all depends on what you want. If you REALLY want to know what boat is the best, figure out which is the best for YOU. pick the ones you like the most and demo them. Take pictures, come back here, and post something that will be beneficial (i.e. a direct comparison between what you went out and demoed) to this community... instead of posting something that has been argued over and over, most of which you can find with the SEARCH button at the top.

You guys are all a-h*les. The 1997 MC 205D is clearly and objectively the best boat. Especially with lots of stickers added for ballast and pimpness.

I think the Bass Nautique is probably the greatest boat ever made.

If you want to spend alot of money go with the 2004 S.A.N...Its nice but we passed because of the price. For a good price, go with the Tige 22V or 24V. The wake is wide but why look at it as a bad thing. It will just make you jumps longer because you will have to go bigger on it. The storage and seating and room is good if that really matters. The service is really good from Tige itself not talking about all the dealerships. X-Star is really nice also. Malibu is also a good choice. There are so many boats to choose from though I guess it just depends on someones personal preferences...

you also have to take into consideration that you can get the same options on a mobius that you can on a SAN TE, just not the same quality. bump it up a notch from the mobius, and check out tiges and calabrias. bump it up another notch, and then you are into malibu, nautique, and mastercraft territory. if room is a REALLY pressing issue, there always seems to be a larger version of every wakeboarding boat out there, like the malibu 23lsv, the CC 226, and the tige 24v.

I love it so far. I dropped it off at the dealership Saturday to have the perfect pass and bimini installed. Also doing the 25 hour service and installing XM Radio.

The best boat is the one someone gives you. The next best boat is the one a friend lets you use whenever you want. Following that there are a bunch of awesome boats you can buy Laughing
