Is anyone else watching this?
The biggest problem I am having is that it's grainy

I don't think wakeskating will be behind a boat at an event until they have their own tour (or what have you). Right now it's still just a sideshow (you know, all of the wakeboard autograph signings went on during the wakeskate event, so of course that's going to pull away spectators...and let's face it, not every wakeboarder even wants to watch wakeskating). Although, it's really cool to see so many people trying to qualify for a spot. Before the seadoo wakeskating event, the seadoo comp was still something for the pros that qualified high enough that day...It was a way to demonstrate "the towing capabilities of the seadoo" and a way to get some extra cash. You know, another sideshow.

A comp like the toejam is much better for wakeskating. Since it's devoted specifically to that, there's more time for falls and time to show other aspects of wakeskating (you know the boat, pwc, and the winch). Basically, a comp like that can give the wakeskaters what they want. I think right now, the wakeskaters are at the mercy of the tour because the seadoo is their only option (or that's the way I see it).

At this point, I'm just happy that there's a way for the wakeskaters to earn some cash and prizes. Obviously it's not ideal, but it's also a way to promote low budget wakeskating. And since seadoo hooks up the cassette boys, they now have a deal where if you buy a wakeskate specific seadoo, you can get a free cassette flat deck (graphically designed specifically for this promotion). I think that's boss...at least more people will be inclined to try wakeskating. Anyway, that's my take on the situation.

And you're right itch, asterisk and (especially) sfumato were the best videos of the year.

I was able to catch the wakeskating this evening, and the website says it will be on tomorrow, but they don't post a start time anywhere... Confused

when does it start?
