i live in roanoke VA and we are starting to ride at smith mountain the 1st weekend in march.. its still gonna be cold.. but we are making some trips to hyco lake in march also

i'll be with brian first weekend in march and at hyco! we rode on sml a few weeks ago and it was cold as stuff.

fungus- did you by any chance go to that strike anywhere show that played in farmville a few weeks ago? i think thats where it was, could be wrong

I just go 2 college here at longwood. I actually live in West Point on the mattoponi river and va. beach in the summer. i usually ride the mattoponi and the chickohomany though. We always looking for more riders to go out with so hit me up if yall wanna ride some..............

i know the propsts. i'm probably gonna be goin over there some this summer. i went for a weekend in october last year. i love the chic river. it was really nice and they considered it a "rough" day

um too bad T-dog (travis P) dosent ride for da GNP.. haha but yeah travis hasent ridden for glass and powder all this past summer and he still dosent ride for them.. he has been riding for 3-ply boardshop (mike wedington's shop) ..but we still treat him as family.. but hunter still rides for Gnp.

i love va too.. in the spring and summer its the best place to ride. because everyone is so stoked to ride.. i do wish it was a little bit warmer in the fall and winter/spring time( like now) but what can you do.. lol

Yeah, i think we can appreciate riding alot more than people who have the chance to ride year round...it obviously hasn't effected our skills, brian you are sick, davis is sick etc. etc. Everyone is so pumped to ride by springtime, i love that.

dammit, reading this got me all pumped to ride. but then i looked outside and remembered the 40 degree weather and high speed winds. the water is also about 2 inches shy of flooding my dock right now from all the SNOW thats melted (and rain). all i gotta say is it better be warmer by next weekend

One good thing about this winter--Lake Anna water level should be better this summer. Last summer was crazy.

yeah it was down a lot. i was at the GnP tournament and we went out riding that morning. we had to dodge land masses in the middle of the lake several times. and the next day that same boat hit land in the middle of a channel and got stuck. luckly i had gone home

Hey atleast the snow has melted down in Richmond. I just got through shoveling the snow away from the mailbox. This winter sucked. Last year we started riding on the Rappahanock the end of Mar, but this year may be a few weeks later. I am going to pick up the boat from SC March 21st and should get quite a few sets in that weekend. Maybe that can hold me over for a few weeks.

yeah this winter has sucked.. usually by now the weather should be looking a little better.. but i heard that the farmers almanac says we get our last snow in VA at the beging of april.. that means its deff gonna be cold here in march (if the almanc is true )

Yep, I'm thinking April will be the absolute earliest I'm in the water. Its going to be a chilly spring. Winter hasn't totally sucked, the snowboarding has been terrific.

I didnt get a chance to snowboard, but I did make the best of the weather. I broke out the wakeskate and tore down my driveway in about 9 inches of snow. The fins didnt work too well with the turning, as I ran over my Black Labs back leg as she tried to keep up. I also broke out the kneeboard and sat on it with my 20 mo old son and off we went. I guess all was not lost with the storm.

PS I got some great video of it all, but havent had the time to take some still shots out of it and post them. Maybe I ll send them in to the Homegrown contest at WBM.

Lake Anna level update: If you dont already know, Lake Anna is full. My parents were down there last week and said the water is only a couple inches below our dock, and no more beach. Thats a good sign for this summer.

i havent done much snowboarding this winter so im trying to get throught my senior year in high school waiting for the water to get warm so i have something to look forward too.. i wanna wakeboard so bad
