Do you stand for the Pledge of Allegiance?

I was going to put this in the girl dissing the flag post but it was already turned into a chatroom type thing...

I sure do. Everyday. And I put my hand on my heart and say it and everything. What I can't stand and really shocks me is that half the kids in my school don't. Now, this may just be because were the highest drug-rated school in the state, but I've heard even the smartest kids make comments like, "its turned into a cult type of thing". Unbelievable. All you're doing is declaring your loyalty to America. If it wasn't for America, you'd be screwed. The least you can do is stand up for 15 seconds and pledge it.

Where's Craig when you need him.

I come from a fairly strong military background. I have 3 uncles who graduated the from the military academies, Annapolis, Westpoint, and Air Force. I tend to think of what it means to pay homage and respect to our country during the flag ceremony.

Don't forget to take of your #$%#@ hat. It drive me nuts to see people wearing hats during the pledge or national anthem. It's simple respect.

CM you're exempt... haha I lived with some Croatians this summer and have a better understanding of what the world perception is about the USA. It's funny to hear some of the issues people have with this country. I mean things we totally take for granted.

hmmm i by no means hate like counrty music but when the parents are driven im forced to listen to it, so i wanna say after 9/11 alot of counrty songs cam out about it and i get chills when i listen to some of them, so i know u u guys feel.

I too stand, and get chills. I am ex military and have enjoyed the service of my country. It's not right that people don't respect this country, but it is our freedom that allows those who wish too show their disrespect to her. It's a small price to pay to enjoy our way of life.

well spoken skobi, cause of the government i lost my grandpa but i dont go around disrespectin it, im proud of my grandfather, he fought at the beachs of normady(srry cant spell) veitnam, and one otehr i just cant think of it he lived through all of em only to die slowly from cancer from agent orange from veitnam but i dont go around calling the govenrment dumbasses for not know what that stuff did or that they wont give my grandma any momey for our lose im still damn proud of this counrty so Bubb Rubb that girl theres discremination everywhere

no i went to high school here in eugene grad 99, but i went to my first 2 years of college in ashland but i figured i better get some actually school work done so i moved back here
