iboard420, since you're new its ok...but there is a lot of boat bashing that gets started by statements, or in this case, a question. IMO, there isn't a best wake out there. I will say that the cleanest, hardest wake I've ever ridden behind was an '04 X-2, which is the old x-star. I want to ride behind an '04 'bu vlx with full ballast and wedge down.--->I've ridden in it just not ridden the wake itself _________________

It's all personal preference. You cannot narrow it down to the single best wake. |

Any of the flagship wakeboard boats from Mastercraft, Nautique, Malibu, Tige, Supra, Moomba, Sanger, Centurion etc will have good wakes. It's just all preference as to if you life your wake more rampy, more vert etc. _________________ www.krookedminds.com

check out waterski magazines boat buyers guides. they do a pretty good job of describing the shape and size of all the wakes. you should be able to get back issues. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

The gear guide of this years WBM had some reviews and classifications of wake size, shape, etc in there as well. If you can get a hold of a copy, it has some interesting reading for you. |

If I had to narrow it down to the top 3 I would say
1-Malibu VLX
2-X-Star
3-SAN
Remeber this is just my opinion. |

Ridn9high, yep, its your opinion. Hopefully others will realize that before they start yelling at you.
It's good this is in the Newbie area... it would be ugly otherwise.
I can say that so far Sanger wakes are my fav... (210 or 215). _________________

Join the INT and compete for a season. Typically they have a boat rotation and you will get a chance to ride behind a lot of different hulls. I have ridden behind MC X-2, X-Star, X-9, X-10; CC SAN 210 TE and the 22' version; Centurion Avalance and Typhoon; Malibu VLX; Supra Launch SS, and my personal boat is a Gekko. I personally prefer the rampy wakes - I am 240 and punch through the vertical wakes including the X-2 - so I look for the wider boats;hence, the Gekko.
Demo as much as what you can and figure out what fits your style. _________________ Original Boarder from 1983

SAN-Very vertical
X-Star/VLX-Semi vert/rampy
Calabria Pro-V-super rampy
these boats were also weighted to the owner's personal rideing style |
