at one lake i go to there's one ramp for the whole lake and its a 6 lane ramp about 150 yards long and very steep. if i didnt have a boat i could drink beer and watch wallys try to back down that thing for hours and be entertained.

ha ha yeah. I think it needs to be part of like drivers saftey or something. Thats normally what takes half the time is backing up for people

Orwood, here on the Delta used to be the spot for watching launch ramp follies! They used to have bleachers set up right by the ramp just for "wally-watching"
Since they put in a new ramp and took out the bleachers, it's not as fun anymore. But, you can still see some stupid people at the ramps..... Laughing

oh my god wake how annoying is that, the friggin idiots dont have a clue. the dads yelling at the little kids to hurry up. and the yuppies towing boats with bmw 4wd's and stuff who dont even get wet. some guy towing his boat in a bmw (just a 3series) was trying to jump start his boat from his car, he had the boat off the car of course, he'd parked our car in, then he somehow managed to fry his jumper leads til the were all melted and smoking. i'm guessing he probly fried all the electronics in his car. it wouldn't start so we watched him push it out of the way and left him to it. i think he deserves a beer from p-chick

Think this one tops all,

Guy was takin his new VLX out of the water, forgot to hook the nose ring to lock the boat in place, guy decided to be *cool* and haul ass out of the water to show off his flows on his truck. You can guess what happened next, BAM. about 3/4 of the VLX landed ON the concrete ramp. It hurt to even watch. Puppy Eyes

They ended pushing the boat back into the water, destroying the gelcoat to get it back on the trailer, couldnt even imagine the repair bills.

Moral of the story, make damn sure nothing can go wrong if your gonna look cool in front of everyone Mr. Green

We have wally up here that have two stingers on there rides. They pull up to the ramp, unhook there trailer, turn the truck around, hook the trailer back up (to the front of the truck) so they can drive the trailer down the ramp. they lunch the boat, pull up the ramp and park with the trailer hooked up. When there done the load the boat, pull out, un hook the trailer, turn the truck around and hook the trailer to the back of the truck and leave. I will get some pics when the lake opens.
