So I was all set on buying the 04 Parks 143 (bio), but figured I would check with everyone here first. Is the 143 too big - should I get te 138 instead? I am about 5'10" 180 lbs. I like huge airs which is why I was leaning towards the 143. Also, the wake I ride is nothing special so I need all the help I can get. Thanks in advance for your input.
P.S. I am planning on buying the 04 Nice PRS1s. Any feedback on these would be sweet too!
Peace- |

mn_vtec, Parks is a good board with tons of pop - but it is super agressive and can be too much for some riders. There are others out there with a less agressive rocker and are less agressive cutting - before I got a smokin deal on my Premier I was all set to buy a Substance 138. The Substance rides a lot less agressive when cutting but still has tons of pop. _________________

| chavez-y-chavez, I'm not too worried about the agressivness of the board. I'm not a newb to wakeboarding - but I've been riding my 137 O'brien for 3 years now and want to upgrade. I was just curious about everyone elses opions on here as I think the 138 would be fine, but some of my friends say I should go larger with the 143 since I weigh 180 lbs. I do want huge pop so that is why I am curious if I should go bigger; however, I also want to be able to throw the board around in the air once I get up there. Thanks for the input. |

Ok, here goes. I am looking for a board with huge pop - that is the main thing. I was set on buying the Parks 143 but have been looking on here and keep getting new ideas. I know hyperlite makes a great board, but I'm not going to buy a board just for the name (which is why I don't own a Burton snowboard). Anway, I am picking between two boards as of right now. I can get either for about the same price (the Gator is 10 dollars more).
Hyperlite Parks 138
Gator Ricky G 138
Both claim to have huge pop. I know the Hyperlite would be a lot more aggressive and has the abrubt 3 stage so you need to hit the wake right. The wake on our boat isn't the greatest and I've been wakeboarding for about 4 years now but have never really looked into the top of the line boards. I am currently riding a 137 O'brien Shifty which doesn't have much pop, with a continous rocker and a smooth ride. I would like a more agressive board then this. One more thing, I did notice the Gator weighed only 5.5 lbs and if what I read was right, the Parks weighs about 9? (the 143 that is) I stand about 5'10'' and 180 lbs. All input/suggestions is greatly appreciated. Sorry for all the posts. This is a great forum.

mn vtec. Go for it! THE PARKS IS NOT TO AGGRESSIVE. If you were buying a motorcycle i would say start with a 600 but wakeboarding is not that dangerous. Start with the big boy! I rode a continous rocker Blindside DV8 for 2-years then bought the Parks and the bindings. WOW! What a difference. I instantly enjoyed the ride and was wake2wake by the end of the day. | Well my advice is go with whatever is similar to a board you had before that, if you didnt like that board then go bigger if it seemed like it needed to be bigger |

i am 6'4 and 188 and i ride a 143, its a TAD bit big, and can be a little slow initiating spins, but once you start it the thing just carries its own momentum so it makes up for it..... if you have any chance to demo thats what i would do, justt keep in mind that you are at the MINIMUM weight that hyperlite reccomends for a 143, i would go for a 138...unless you plan on putting on 20 pounds over the summer... hehe _________________ finally got my boat!!!

I don't know where you got your information, but the ricky G is a 138. I rode it thursday and would classify it close to or very near the premier...'02 that is. _________________
