|

I can't believe I went. Its been about 60º (air) so we drove out too Lake Lahontan (1.5 hrs), 4 of us (me and 3 guys) and went wakeboarding. We were behind my friends I/O, the wake was reallly small, but at least we got out there. Unfortuantly I don't have a dry suit so I wore two long wetuits over each other. It was freezing. And just my luck, right when it was my turn the increadible butter disappearded and the wind picked up. But oh welll...I was just stoked to be out there and I got to wear my new boardshorts that im in love with! (I picked up a sweet new pair of fox's, they dry in seconds!)
Im anxious to go again, I asked my dad to take the boat out for my birthday (30th) if its nice enough....he laughed....he usually doesnt get it out till the end of May and thats with me on is tail about it the whole time...and me doing all the work (sanding the tique, staining it, vaccuming...etc).
Im thinking about buying a new board...Im thinking a new LF set-up, Subjekt 133 and Minx's but I want to demo it first. _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.

JRock*Girl, I love your media . I really love that board rack. I think my hubby can (and will be ) building that for me this weekend. I have about four boards at my house and at least seven sets of bindings. Sure would be nice to have everything organized.
I'm glad to hear you got to go out and I'm hoping that you will get to go again soon. Or come down here and I'll give you a pull

I don't know I havn't picked it up yet.... But thats going to make 3 wakeskates! haha, my parents are divorced and both bought me one for my birthday! Oh my....They wont be here till May though so mabye I should trade 2 in for a wakesurfer!
I ordered a new set-up. LF Subekt 133 and LF Minx's....increadibly sweet deal through the shop I work at. I decided im getting a whole new set-up instead of going back to FL. I have had my fix w/ FL. My dad also bought me a 600 lb fat sack and pump, which is a good start and he installed a sweet new cd player in the boat. It officially hits the water April 10th and its in until the end of the season. 2 weeks! I cant wait! _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.

Isn't the first time out PERFECT no matter what!? I went to Orlando and just got back in on Monday. I live in Indy and haven't rode since early October. I got new board shorts, new vest, new rash guard and a new SWEEEET hyperlite 131. I didn't care if it was raining..I was stoked and loved my first FACE PLANT of the season!!! _________________ JoyRide |

| I got out for the first time a few weeks ago too. The water was in the 40's and hte air was 50's. It wasn't too bad though. Hopefully I'll get a change to go this weekend when the air temp will be in the mid 60's!!!!!! |

We used to have a 100 degree rule. So long as the air temp and the water temp added together equal 100, you are good to go! _________________ JoyRide |

JRock:
How do you like the Minx bindings? My wife has always hated the men's based bindings because of the arch support. Yesterday we went to the shop and she tried the Minx on and loved them. I am just wondering how you think that they ride b/c I would love to suprise her with these bindings for her birthday. I just want to make sure they perform as well as they fit.
Thanks |

Its been from in the 50's lately. We had a few days of 61 degrees. It was awsome. Jumped in the lake, and went for a swim. Hah. We're getting the boat ready right now, cleaned up, CF numbers on, and new stereo system. Im counting down days... I live in Nevada, like 5 mins from Cali though.
Nothing is very cold compared to Tahoe. I heard Havasu is already in the 90's!? One way or another, compared to Tahoe, im sure its warm. Im still a little unsure about going though....it would be me and 6 guys.
I havn't gotten the Minx's yet....they should be here in two weeks or so, hopefully before spring break. They look super comfy though. I will let you know when I get them...but im pretty sure your wife will be stoked on them. What girl wouldn't be? _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.

Hey JROCK! I am curious after reading through your posts....do you compete? Where I usually ride, Hidden Valley Lake in Lawrenceburg, IN., holds a tournament once every summer. We had to fight (city council) to get it b/c it's a private lake. Been going strong for 2 years, though! There are several male competitors and only a few female. The ranks are the same, from beginner..to advanced. To qualify for beginner you have to be able to land one invert....all the way to advance where you have to do three inverts, 180, ride switch. We're sponsered by some local stations. Thus far, there are anywhere from 20-30 guys with only 7 women I know you live pretty far away, however you seem to have some good contacts. We need more ladies! As far as beginner, well that's how you sign to qualify. I certainly can't land one. We are looking for girl power and motivation! At least if you can grab your board and go big...we welcome the FUN! Of course, if you are interested, that'd be sweet. No wakeskate division for women, yet, but there is for the guys. Lack of NUMBERS!!!! _________________ JoyRide |

Joy Allen, if I could land one invert....and had someone willing to pay the travel fees I would be all over it! I have only tried one invert, and I ended up with a blind 180. I will definatly try some more though and have at least one nailed this season. I compete in the local INT competitions, and went to Nationals last year (but I am the only girl in Nevada, not much competition). I seem to ride 3x better in competition, so I do it to push myself. So if some miracle falls out of the sky I will see you there . Way to fight for it! _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.

JROCK!! PROPS on the Nationals!!! I cannot land an invert. I am in on the board of voters so I was able to compete. I had huge competition and got diddly. Who cares? I had fun and we need chicks! So I will PM you w/ the info. as soon as I get it for the 2004. Good luck with your inverts...maybe you can show these girls some real comps!!! _________________ JoyRide |

Hey Joy, post the info to this board when you get the details. I'm from Chicago and love to go out to new lakes and contests. I ride in INT and have a blast even though, like JROCK, no inverts yet...but hey! The season is just beginning and it will happen this year! If you are interested we have a contest on our lake in September - we are about 8 hours from you I think. Last year there were 4 women - I got 2nd and was soundly beat by a 9 year old. |

Let me know when it comes around and I will see what I can do.
I went wakeboarding again today......whew, im sooo rusty. It was almost embarrasing. Actually I take back almost, it was. I hate the cold water, I am moving to Fl the second I graduate to join all the wakeboard junkies. Perhaps I should invest in a drysuit like everyone else around here. I hate the beggining of the season, it takes soo long to get back to where you left off..... _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.

I should really really start thinking about it more. I havn't even taken my SAT's yet. Hah. FSU or UCF but truly, I have no idea. I just know that I want to be there at least for my basic years. I don't know what I want to major in yet. So I figure I may as well do my basic 4 yrs in Fl, where I know I want to be. _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.
