Auto ballast is in the making right now: 2 550's on each side of the box and then 500 in lead in the rear and 200 up front.

PP wb pro and tower (either titan or boss) on its way

Make sure you anchor that box down up on the bow before it bounces up and the shank on the bow eye punctures one of the woofer cones. Also find some way to protect the receiver from water before it gets trashed and all that hard work you put into installing all that goes down the drain when you're out on the lake with no tunes. Sad

im not to worried about the reciver. I keep the boat on a hoist w/ canopy and it is well protected.

Do i really need to strap down the sub box? I wouldnt think it would bounce around too much.... idk though. It is up in the bow were it will take the biggest pounding on the waves.

always interested to see new ideas for where to put things in the tight corners you have to work with in the 2001's. I have to say, I only have a single 12 in a box up front and it doesn't bounce at all. I generally throw a couple life jackets in and around it in case the environmental police want to check that we've got everything we need so maybe that's what holds it in place but the thing never moves as far as I can tell.

nothing really wrong with not using MDF... as long as the box is sealed up. You may want to Glass and resin the box to make sure it is sealed... both an aritight seal and sealed from the elements.

i just used some bondo to fill the major leaks. With the quality of the subs it wont make that much of a difference.
