Has anyone had this? Charles Shaw wines are only available at Trader Joe's stores for $1.99. (Charles + $1.99 = 2 Buck Chuck) I've heard good things bout the merlot and am curious to try it. _________________ my demo reel

jumalian, my mom buys those by the cases. Whenever you're able to find them, consider urself lucky. They run out here so fast. Some say that they don't notice the difference from a $2 Charles Shaw and a $20 bottle of something else.
I wish I could give you my opinion on taste... |

I've heard really good things about their merlot... I've never tried it though.
for $2.00, it's worth a shot. You can't even buy a single bottle of beer is most bars for that price.

In Washington its $3 buck chuck (the gov controls booze prices...)
Anyways, I have tried the Merlot, Cab and Chard.... They are all pretty good for the price. Would I serve you a glass of one? No.
I find the Merlot tart/tangy and very sharp. Not smooth at all.
For $2 try it, let the bottle breath for a while. It takes the edge off. _________________

It's not a great bottle but it gives you a nice healthy wine buzz just the same. do as Magic says, it will help. My roommate is a viticulture major and basically says that their wine sucks, I like it though, I'm cheap. My roommates homemade variety is much better, blank label wines are fun |

jumalian,
I really can't tell you about the Charles Shaw Merlot, I haven't had that one yet, but I've had the Cabernet and the Shiraz and those are both pretty decent (especially for $2!). _________________

| For $2.00 you can't beat it. Never had the Merlot, but the Chard is not bad at all. |

We get 4 litre casks here, the 10 buck chuck, good for 3 or 4 high school kids. _________________ Terminate high thinking |
