I've got my PC connected to my laptop, via a crossover ethernet cable. I've got the IP's set on both to be the same, except of the last number on each computer. One, I have it at "1", and the other set to "2".
Now what? How can I "see" the PC on my laptop? What I'm trying to do is to to connect the PC to the laptop so I can transfer files from PC to laptop. Help!!!
So are they connected? I've never used a crossover cable so I'm not sure how that works.
Can you ping one from the other? If so, I guess you're asking about Windows networking. In that case...
At a command prompt, type:
net use * \\<ip address>\c$ /u:Administrator <Administrator password of remote host>
The drive should then show up in Explorer and you can transfer files just as you would on the local host. _________________ We are wakeboarders and our culture is advanced beyond all that you can possibly comprehend with one hundred percent of your brain.
