|
|
Hey, I am interested in installing a CD player in my Boat.
A couple of questions. Do you guys suggest a Marine CD player or will a car audio player work?
Also, I can install a car CD player, but i looked under my boat at the wiring and it is totally confusing and I dont think i could do it. Has anyone else installed one before?
Is it easy? if not, how much did it cost you?
It is a 1993 Glastron If that matters, and it has an original Tape deck in it
Thanks |

You can use a regular car audio head unit. Most have built in buffers, so even a hard bump won't skip a disc.
If you are just using it for your factory speakers (basically to play cd's) then just get an average 45x4 pre-out head unit.
If you are going to build a system off of it, then that is a completely different question. _________________

I have a Sony deck that plays MP3 disks and I highly recommend it. You can fit over 100 songs on a single CD in MP3 format so you don't have to carry a ton of disks with you, and it doesn't skip unless you hit something really hard.
I installed my own and it was easy. I think once you disconnect the old one you'll be able to figure out what the wires are - they are the same as in a car but probably not labeled. If you can get a wiring diagram for you old unit then it will make it a lot easier. |

| I agree with Bill. Get an MP3 player. I got one in my ride and I love it. I only have to carry a couple cds instead of my big a** cd books |

| deepbaywakeboarder, I installed it myself. It's pretty easy if you're mechanically inclined. You could probably have someone do it for $60-100. |
