Would anyone happen to know how often the perd runs dry? and is there a big difference between the bridge area and say much further downstream?

I'm looking to buy some lake travis land and not sure if I should get on teh perd or not.

thanks

does anyone think that the risks of the perd running dry outway the benifits of having a dock on it?

I think the benefit outweighs the risk - by far. Of course, that is because the Perd is my fave riding spot by far.

thats what I was thinking, but I didnt know if I was spoiled last summer. It was my first summer out there and the water was great all year. If that was the rare case, and more times than not it runs dry, I might want to look more at bee creek or lagovista. i.e. Someplace easy to get to the perd, but on the main lake.

dizzyj, the Perd and Travis are one in the same for water levels...when Travis goes down, so does the Perd. I think last year was more the norm.

I think Salmon Tacos put up a link to some water tables that talked about it. Do a search for "perd" or search some of his threads for the link. You should be able to get to the historical info you are looking for through that link.

its just that the perd is much more shallow. when the water level at travis is under 660 is time to stay away from the perd...maybe even a little higher...

there is also an area that is still travis, but you get to it by way of the perd. A lot of houses are in that area and LCRA is non-exisistent up there. The water is as butter as the perd too. A friend of mine has a house at bouy 49, it's about 15 minutes from Mona's and a great place to ride when the perd gets crowded... which isn't much.
