I have one and i love it. It allows you to move around a lot, and it looks like the shiznit. it wont float you as well as a USCG obviously, but the sacrafice is worth it. One problem, though, is that they are hard to tighten up really snug because there is only one strap and it is around your stomach instead of your chest. But that has not been a huge problem for me.

I don't have the moulded one, but I like mine, and it does float, but I agree it's not as bouyant as others I've riden.

graphik... do you mean not as bouyant as a CGA or other molded vests..... because the molded and baller are not meant to float you...

Well said. I have a JP Stance. It's non-cga, but it floats a helluva lot better than the 3D molded, which my bro has. It's much more padded, comfortable than the 3D molded and is just as if not more flexible.

ORANGE GLOW... I've got the stance (i think that's the model), so it's not the moulded. It's not CGA, but it does float me pretty well. I'm 145 lbs, so a bigger guy may not feel the same way. If something happened, I feel pretty confident that it's hold me up just fine until help arrived. I got it because the cheap jackets gave me a rub rash around the arms. The JP is really comfy. My bro has a Body glove vest, and it's CGA, flots like crazy and it really comfy, and it was 1/2 the price. Looks pretty good too.

If you want a sweet vest that fits similar to the molded stance, check out the new JP Cell-Block. There's more info about it on Wakeside.com.

Here's a pic...

I personally like these better (JP A-10 Attack Molded Side Entry). Go to www.buywake.com to get those and don't forget to get some Hoochie-Goo binding lube while you're there!! Support your local reps!

I actually have the A-10, and I love it. However, a lot of people want/need a CGA vest. The Cell-Block is a good alternative to the A-10 and the Baller vest.

graphik...the new a-10 and molded stance were changed because of the rashes. its nice because they are looser around the arms and head area making it much easier to get on and off.

Question for you JP lovers out there.....

I am 6', 190lbs

I have an '03 molded Stance - it doesn't float me for crap - about upper lip/nostril level.

The '04 A-10 molded looks like it has about 3x the foam the '03 molded Stance has.

Have any of you used both and can you compare the bouyancy of the '03 Stance to the '04 A-10?

jt09,

Well, I think I can help. I conceptualized & designed both the Stance Molded & the new A-10 with our pro team riders. There is a bit more boyancy in the A-10 vest this season. The actual "volume" of foam measures slightly more than the Stance. Also, there are 1/2 inch EVA foam rib shields that you can ride with (adding a little extra boyancy). The fit of the A-10 is also just a bit more refined with larger arm holes and a contour in the actual mold that should result in less resistance during aggressive movement (i.e. riding - duh).

If you're really after boyancy though, try the Cell-Block which is USCG approved. It is truly an amazing vest in ever aspect... stunning really. The fit, the boyancy, the flexibility, the design etc... it's absolutely insane. One problem though, they are VERY HARD to get... the demand for them is overwhelming.

There are no vests on the planet better than Jetpilot - that's a fact. JP has the best wake team on earth and it shows in the product. So, good luck with your choice, you really can't lose though.

There's more new Jetpilot shizz on the way too... just watch.

Thanks

Brianj, That's good stuff - i appreciate it. I may check out the Cell Block and see if I like it. I absolutely HATE double belt/clip vests though...for no real reason....

Let me ask you this...Can you quantify how much more bouancy the A-10 has over the molded Stance?

How is it a fact that JP has the best product line? Personally, I'd take an Oneill or BodyGlove vest over a JP anyday. I think your words could be chosen a bit more carefully.

ok wake team, and product have nothing to do with each other...

JP has soem awesome designers, but so do other companies...

Right now I think JP has the best vests...FOR ME

JP spent alot on research, and want to get into wakeboarding A LOT MORE! which is awesome.

everyone has and opinion, but when you say its a fact that JP is the best, it makes JP look bad...

so state your opinion, and dont say its a fact...

That must be why Hyperlite has the best products out as well. Rolling Eyes

Ha ha, okay, okay... relax you guys. Sorry for saying "that's a fact" about JP having the best vests. You gotta believe in what you're doing, that's all. No need to get all "ultra-literal" and act like this is a courtroom. Yes, there are many other companies making excellent gear.

Oh, JP's team and product have a LOT to do with each other though...seriously. Side-Entry - from a team rider. Removeable Rib Shields - team rider input. Molded Layouts - team rider designed. Baller Vest - All Team. Etc etc...

The boardshorts & clothes are too... team is really a very important aspect in the design process.

Well, have fun in here. It's Wakeboarding, and that's based on fun so enjoy!

Take Care All.

ORANGE GLOW... the JP vest is great.. the rash came from the jacket that came with the boat. It gave the the rash, I bought the JP vest and have not had the same problem. It is really comfy, and no rash.... just to get things straight

Thanks for the info Brianj, it's always good to hear a little "insider" info from time to time. I think others (ie. Bill w/ MT) should be more actively involved. It helps to keep the riders up to date as well as keeping the rumors from getting out of hand. Cool

Buywake.com has the A-10 and the two Baller vest, but not the Cell Block.
Wakeside.com has both the Cell Block and the A-10 in stock. If what Brian is saying is true, people better get em while the getting is good.

Keep up the progression! Twisted Evil
